I'm going to force myself not to watch this, because everytime I get sucked in and next minute it's an hour later and I'm googling "what happened to Paul Carriage?"

Still to this day my favourite game to watch... just made it that little bit sweeter that the commentators were talking about a Parra V Brisbane grand final 10-11 mins to go... we were all heart..

If Robert Relf didn't unload to Silva, we lose.

Poor bugger. I don’t think he ever played again. He had the worst game I’ve seen from a player in watching 45 years of rugby league.

That was a freak of a game, but people forget that it was part of a run of four come from behind wins, two in extra time.

If only we beat Brisbane, no premiership would top it in history.
Unbelievable year. Top 10 saved us LOL.

I went to literally every game in NSW that year and we were pure crap for most of the season... Come the end of year and we were completely different.

From memory we smashed Wests Magpies by 40 odd about 4 or 5 weeks out from the end of year and we didn't lose a game after that (Besides GF which were winning at half time), we just clicked in both defence and attack.

Best part for me was being the last team to ever beat Illawarra in the final round and the last team to ever beat St George in the first week of the finals hahaha.

That final series was magical... Let this sink in, all games were sudden death, we beat St George at Kogarah, we beat North Sydney at North Sydney Oval, We beat Newcastle after trailing 16-0 (Defending ARL champions), we beat Parramatta after trailing 18-2 with 10 mins left in the match! We were leading 12-10 against basically the Australian team at half time in the GF and only fell away after basically playing 8 sudden death matches (4 before the finals and 4 in the final)... We also played 40 mins of extra time the 2 weeks previous to the GF.

Referees today would've buckled under pressure and called it a forward pass, even though it wasnt.
Imagine the Jason Hetherington to Polla Mounter ball for our first try... It was deadset 1 meter forward LOL

Random thread - but I like it.

Was there at the game right next to a whole bay of Parra supporters. it was the most tense i think i've felt at a game, as the dogs mounted that comeback. Man it felt bloody awesome.

Team was too rooted from the previous 2 games. They never really had a chance in the GF. Broncs came out of the blocks hard and it was all over red rover.

Do you remember that Warriors game on a cold and wet Saturday afternoon at Belmore when we got the cleaners put through us? There's no way in the world I thought we were making the finals let alone GF after that.

I think that was Simon Gilles last game and after Britt became captain we never looked back.

A lot of Bennett teams are second half specialists, but the Broncos that year were especially good in the second half. We needed the GF to end after 40 minutes.
