Semi Radradra set to sacrifice rugby’s millions, snub Eels in NRL return
Cross-code superstar Semi Radradra is set to sacrifice millions and return to the NRL on a cut-price deal, revealing to friends which Sydney club he wants to sign with.

Former Australian winger Semi Radradra is so homesick he is prepared to take a $2m pay cut to return to the NRL.

The Daily Telegraph has been told French rugby union star Radradra is telling friends he wants to join South Sydney.

The giant Fijian winger, who previously played for Parramatta, is seeking a return to Australia because of homesickness, France’s cold weather, and family reasons.

Radradra left Australia for French club Toulon in 2017 before switching to rivals, Bordeaux, last year.

He was worth around $1m a year when he left the NRL but sources claim Radradra would now accept offers of around $500,000-a-season.

At age 27, Radradra would chase a four-year deal worth a combined total of around $2m – half the money he was earning two years ago. He just wants to come home.

A third party is said to be acting between Radradra and NRL clubs.

Souths, Canterbury and Parramatta have been linked to Radradra with the Rabbitohs said to be his preferred choice.

One source close to Radradra said several clubs were “circling.”

Parramatta wouldn’t comment about any potential interest in Radradra when contacted. Radradra was spotted socialising with his former Parramatta teammates recently but was noncommittal about a rugby league return.

Souths officials are tiring of answering questions about possible recruits given the club has been linked with Radradra, Josh Addo-Carr, Jai Arrow, David Fifita and Tyson Frizell.

The Rabbitohs have money to spend though through the retirements of Sam Burgess and John Sutton and George Burgess’ return to England.

NRL officials may reveal Souths’ salary cap dispensation amount from Sam Burgess’ enforced retirement next week. The Burgess money could be directed at Radradra or Arrow.

“Apparently Souths are looking at every player (according to speculation) but first we’ve got to sort out what the go is with Sam (Burgess),” Souths hooker Damien Cook told Sporting News.

“But Semi Radradra is a quality player and he did a great job when he was in the NRL. He’d be a great asset to most clubs.

“Who knows (what will happen)? We will see how it plays out.”
Radradra played 94 matches for Parramatta between 2013 and 2017, scoring 82 tries. He left Australia ranked among the NRL’s finest wingers.

In 2015 he scored 24 tries in 18 games for the Eels. Radradra has played 10 rugby union Tests for Fiji, scoring five tries.

Souths, NSW and Kangaroos forward Cameron Murray added: “I haven’t been following Semi’s (rugby) career too closely but obviously what he did in the NRL was incredible.

“He is one of those freak athletes who gets the job done on the wing. He’d be a great asset to any NRL side and the NRL as a whole.

“It would be great to have him back in the NRL playing as well as he was.”

Radradra made his international rugby union debut for Fiji last year and represented the Pacific nation at this year’s World Cup in Japan where he was a standout performer.
Preferential treatment for one of the NRLs favourites. Realisticly he doesn't know anyone at Souths... If we offer 800k he's ours imo

How do you know that? Because it hasn’t been announced?

The Member Forum has been announced - time to turn up and ask the hard hitting questions in person and away from the keyboard.
The club publicly stated we were shedding players so we could be competitive in the marketplace for 2021. Other clubs didn't make such statements or shed players as part of such a plan. I'm only concerned about our club, not what others are doing but others are making more progress than us even for next season. Eels have strengthened recently with Matterson, Tigers got Luciano Leilua and are favourites to sign Mitchell. Cowboys weren't keeping any secrets about hosting Mitchell the other day and they still look likely to get Holmes. Newcastle bought Zac Lomax up for a tour. Bunnies are talking to Radradra apparently.

Turbo brothers wouldn't even talk to our management apparently. We're not talking to anyone it seems. Strange also that the club hasn't extended our club captain by now. What's the hold up there ? They just show signs of being amateurs to me.

The forum is on a Wednesday night. With Christmas commitments I can't afford to fly in for a night or take time off work unfortunately as I'm snowed at work. I wish I could be there. I read plenty of posts from others on here by people also disappointed at our recruitment committee. Hopefully someone with the same concerns will ask similar questions to those I would have asked on the night.

There would be outrage on here if we offered Radradra 800K because he's "not a spine player" THEY will say

Sounds like BS to me, why would he specifically want to play with Souths.

I'm sure he'll go to whoever gives him the best offer.

I doubt we would outspend any other club, doesn't seem like the boards thinking atm.

I'd love the club to sign him but seems the majority on here would rather us just sign the best fresh reserves for cheap in case they suddenly become superstars. They don't believe we need any established superstars. They're probably all still driving 30yo cars too.

I'd say this article was put out because Souffs are holding out as long as they can for Latrell... I don't believe for a second that they aren't interested because Richardson said so... Someone is trying to force their hand

Would be awesome to blood Averillo with someone like Semi outside him. Would ease the pressure and give him a little more time

Yh but defence lol.
We have Lewis to cover them since that's all hes good for lol. I'm not to fussed about defence at this point as nothing will ever be worse than Holland and Okunbur together on the edge...

Just give him 800k and sign him. The bloke won games for parramatta single-handedly.
Isn’t he good mates with that bald bulldogs fanatic Raymond? Anyone wanna give me Raymond’s number?

Many assumptions here mate.
I'll be at the forum and happy to supply updates on the night for those interested.
No doubt there will be many questions asked - including from me.
I've found Lynne, Hilly and Deano all very approachable and up for a chat.
