Who knows. They are obviously trying not to and thankfully not taking the reckless advice from the “experts” here who would throw money around like its monopoly
Good succession planning is the key to long term cap management. Chasing the latest media induced "flavour of the month" is always fraught with danger as the Tigers or NQ are about to find out.

Kambah your love of the Chooks has me questioning your common sense, otherwise your posts are generally on the money :-)

I agree and honesty cannot fault the board for being cautious. I think people underestimate just how hard it’s been for us to dig ourselves out of this hole. The last thing we want to do is fall right back into it

Since Andrew Hill declared the interest in Latrell was over, we lost Foran (now Stand to gain some compensation) Val Holmes now looks set to join the cows leaving Latrell with only the tigers ... I wonder if the doggies wil make another play for Latrell now

So Cowboys looking like signing Holmes, leaving Lattrell with Tigers only. We should go in, chuck an 850k contract at him and give him a deadline of a week.

We would have to offer him 750k for next year though then maybe 900k and 900k.

Wont be surprised if he extends with the Roosters for $600 ;). All part of the grand plan to make it look like he signed for less money. Uncle Nick is very slick!

Not sure I understand the strategy.
If rumours are to be believed, Tigers offer him $3.8m over 4 years.

We know he’s all about the money having knocked back a generous $850k from
The Chooks, so why would be take less to come to Belmore instead of Concord?

Especially when some on here are sure we are the last Sydney club anyone wants to join.

And where would be play?
That’s still too much money for a centre and we have a fullback (not his specialist position).

I still say no. Let the Tigers take the risk.

If he sign with the tigers, mark the date 29/03/2020 @ 4pm Sunday afternoon game!

All I'm saying is give him the contract and see what he does. You don't know what he will do. Chances are that he would take the Tigers BUT maybe he doesn't want to go there? The bloke strikes me as needing more than just money and I hope our club is stronger in supporting of people.

Player like that you find a spot for and that amount is solid. I reckon his goal kicking is worth 200k to start with.

I know it's social media etc but he got a point from me for him and his family helping with the bushfires. Same time Fifita was in Bali lol.

There's options and best man wins. Maybe him and DWZ can mix the role up and swap around as the situation dictates? They could be a great combo. Club first.

Do you think we are suffering a little tunnel vision, here, instead of looking at whole salary cap instead of individual players

So like I said the other day, if the board can deliver josh ado carr, Bronson xerri and channel tevita for a combined 1.8M fair game I walk away from the latrell discussion, but what if they cannot get them??

We all know, if we want latrell we are pretty much in the box seat we can get him.

So why not go for the guaranteed kill of 1m per season on latrell, and then we only get 1 of the above 3 i have mentioned we are at 1.6M for 2 players.....200k change for an up an comer..

But if the board turns around and gets an ageing BJ at 600k , an ageing gagai who is not a centre at 700k, and or the cripple Jack bird.... we have serious problems ladies and gentlemen...

If we are going for youth, then sign the best...

‘You don’t know what he will do’
That’s probably one of the reasons the club pulled out of discussions - too unreliable and/or too many ‘advisors’ in his ear.

Still, if the Cows are now out looks like Tigers are only option, can’t see him staying at the Chooks, that bridge appears burnt - especially with Robinson publicly saying yesterday that his ambitions didn’t fit with their club (playing fullback) and ‘we wish him well’.

His ‘advisors’ have really got the kid in a mess.

I thinks it's Uncle Nick showing everyone what he will do if you dare to not want to play at the Rorters.

Honestly can see the Dogs coming back into the mix. Rorters too if I'm honest.

Fair play to Mitchell for seeing his value but instead of strengthening his position I think he's severely weakened it with clubs baulking at paying his asking price. Time will tell though but clearly everything we've been told so far isn't really close to the truth.

He was wrapped up and going to the Tigers a week ago remember .... only 2 days ago he was in Townsville and going there. Today Holmes going to NQ so Mitchell can't be ...

Sit back and wait people. The truth will be revealed in the coming weeks. Can't see this one playing out too long ....

Feldty is going nowhere.

Hess on the other hand, you guys are welcome to have that pretty boy
Yeah, me, my father and brother all felt that Hess took a bit of a step back this year, for whatever reason. I'm not sure if he was playing injured, or the thinning of the Cowboys pack (especially when JT was out) allowed teams to focus on him more/didn't allow him to pick his spots to inject himself like last year. Last year I was pretty high on him, but not sure what to think now...
