Should be 350k to use how you see fit
Unless there is an option out there available until the end of the year, how could you sign someone with out effecting cap in years to come
I suppose if you had someone lower you could upgrade them to the top squad? But if you did that player would lkely be in the 30 anyway.
What a fucking joke, and they didnt even have the 350 in place until a year ago

what were all the so called "special" conditions that were supposed to have been in Foran's contract to protect us when we signed him?

Did anyone think that it’s reported we have 400k free for next year also? 350 + 400 is a lot for someone good . If it’s 700 since it’s the whole year then we may have enough for Latrell

The most recent contract rumour for the Tigers and Latrell is 800k/900k/1m over three years. It'd have to be a back ended contract (something like 700k/1m/1m over three years) which I wouldn't have a problem with and it isn't comparable to the last time we did back ended contracts (not misjudging the salary cap growth this time).

what most people seem to be missing here is the main point, its not about cap relief, its about buying a big risk, a big risk that we lost on

bulldogs signed foran knowing he was broken, with serious injuries, bulldogs really have no recall as they bought a player knowing full well he was busted
Some common sense on the kennel finally,no one to blame but ourselves,he came to us with shoulder problems,so really we can't accuse the nrl of double standards, even though I hate the bastards, and as for foran retiring,20k a week,to go to the gym,get real

Channel 9 just announced the Bulldogs to take on NRL on Salary cap relief for Foran.
They quoted the Double standards in allowing Burgess and other players being allowed and not Foran. Lets hope this gathers some pace and shows how unfair the NRL is and hopefully the dogs win this for our cap. No mention on Foran retiring.
The fact that foran doesn't want to retire makes things s lot more difficult for the club, and I hope to god that the club doesn't even consider this guy when his contract expires, piss him off, this prick has no conscience, only interest is the money

Is it correct to say as far as money is concerned , foran will get his million from the dogs wether he medically retires or not. We still get the $350k relief from the NRL?
There doesn't appear to be any elite halves to replace him for 2020. As long as we don't re-sign him after this then not much is to our advantage for now.

I think his finished and his chances of getting a new contract are slim with anyone. He said in the telecrap he loves the game and would play for free. He can start with the bulldogs and retire

Problem is the folks responsible for that shit storm are no longer here to face the shit raining down upon them.
They've up and left, some receiving payouts for doing so rather than criminal charges FFS!

I guess it depends how long it takes to get that money if we get it but it would be great to have that money if someone decent pops up once the dominoes start to fall

Nrl is always keen on having an even comp. but a team that is already behind other teams due to an incompetent board, ceo and former coach lose a $1.2m player in a rep game. And they want to even it up with $350k?

$350k might be ok if you lose a player for 3-4 weeks from an origin. But losing a player for 12 months makes the 350k thing pathetic.

If that is what a year is worth then maybe Souths should get $700k compo for burgess’s last 2 seasons. Not 2.2 million.

It shows you how far behind the NRL is compared to other sports. All they have to do is take use the injured reserve list like the NFL do. It allows you to remove players from your roster and cap that have long term injuries. There is no stupid rules or grey areas.
Even the A-league can manage injury replacement signings...
