CH9 Sports report just showed this and showed Dean Pay. DP said that the young guys will have to step up. Reporter then said that fan favourite Josh Reynolds or Aiden Sezer could be an option as Sezer is looking t get out of the Raiders. Didn't Sezer sign with Huddersfield?

NRL 350 compensation is a joke
+$450 still to spend brings total to $800k,Brodie Croft money, and Aidan sezer money, both apparently want around 500k,and money left over, and both very good players

What i want to know is do we get the 350 to spend now or after he has missed the 1st 13 games? Knowing the NRL we will have to wait for him to miss the 1st 13 before we can do anything.
There is definitely something seriously wrong when you only get 350 for a million dollar player when he is injured in a rep game.
Before next season,Canberra applied and received money, for Jordan rapana, before the start of the season,

Yeah signing someone just for the sake of it would be a mistake. The rule that you must sign a like for like player to get the $350k is a joke you should be able to use it however you want.

Any good will I have for Foran is quickly drying up it's just selfish to do this to the club.

He might think he has 3 years left in him but the majority will be spent in the rehab room.
Why the hell should he have to retire?Coz you say so?

I dare say after his 2nd op when the dust settles the club will try to talk some sense into foz his career is done, time to start coaching our halves foz.

Why can’t the club have the doctors report say “ in my expert opinion post surgery Kieron’s shoulder will not be stable enough for the day to day rigours of NRL” if that’s not already the doctors opinion then pay one that will write the report
Not so simple they have their own reports and specialists, and the same shoulder, again, but I agree with you,he should be moved on

He doesn’t have to retire but given the amount of money he’s getting paid and what the clubs got in return if he cared about the club and team he would look at re-negotiating at least some of his salary for next year.

Alright now with all of the other members of the kennel sending their condolences and telling us how unfortunate this is for Foran... I am going to go in on this flop of a signing.

GET DES' BIG MONEY FLOPS OUT OF THIS CLUB. We cannot repair the damage until they are gone. FORAN OUT.

This Des mercenary needs to retire asap. We have ex-Manly weeds within this great club that are destroying the foundations. Until this weed infestation is removed we cannot even think about challenging for a premiership.
I thought all the manly mercenaries were gone, so who's still infecting our club.

Trex still worse imo. Paid him almost as much, and sure he wasnt injured as often, but it wouldnt have mattered if he had been. But Foz is a solid second worst signing ever imo. Both astute signings by supercoach Des, and both ex Manly players. I swear Des sabotaged us on purpose.
t rex 500k/season. foran 1m a season . foran was always coming back from injury and when he did play well was generally in "junk time" ie season over and we win a few . He is the by far our worst value signing.

The club will get part of his salary next year,$350k in fact and he doesn't have to retire.I don't for a second think that if he decides to play on that it will be at The Dogs after next year anyway. Those people who are calling for him to retire are just being selfish,if they were in his situation I wonder how "noble" they would be.
Also pretty sure if he claimed medical retirement and had his contract wiped from the cap for next year, then went elsewhere the following season there would be ramifications.

Because he is a liability.

He is taking the spot from someone else.
He's taking no-one's spot as far as I can see.If he can't play next season the compensation not only allows the club cap relief but also another player can take his spot in the 30 man roster.

They get $350k to use only on a half so the club is losing out massively. It really doesn’t help us at all we aren’t finding a decent replacement for that. If he claims medical retirement and it’s approved that’s it he can’t play in the NRL again as it’s part of the settlement. The club should be doing everything they can to come to some sort of agreement with Foran to save some cap if they have luck with that is another thing.

Can't see him retiring.

No one would willingly walk away from that type of money.

We're stuck with wasted cap space for another year, hopefully the money is used wisely in 2021.
