He is lazy at centre.

Fullback is totally out of the question.
People said the same about Inglis when he was at Melbourne. Back then I was adamant that fullback was his best position. Some people thought I was crazy. Then he ended up going to another level his first few years at Souths as a fullback.

Time will tell. I'm not saying he's a sure thing at fullback but I think he'll do well there and whatever club he goes to, he'll be more involved and have a point to prove.

There's an article on Fox Sports claiming Latrell wants to play fullback. Which is what I've been saying for the past year or more. Whether you think he'll succeed there is another matter but like Inglis, that is where he prefers to play and was always the position he was destined to end up playing.

So seeing as he likely won't be signed as a centre wherever he lands, the argument of $1 million for a centre being too much is likely moot.
Great! We’ve got a fullback - just re-signed him for two years. All the more reason not to sign Mitchell (like we needed one).

Hmmm lots of clubs coming out and stating no Intrest (penrith,South, parra), one in particular hasnt said boo and that would be us. Just saying
Yeah but Souths and Bennett also said they had no interest in Roberts and two weeks later he was playing for them.

Likewise, Hill has said numerous times guys like Mbye and Woods weren't being shopped around and weeks later they were moved on.

Whatever club officials say about signings and retention can always be taken with a grain of salt.

Move DWZ to the Wing or Centres. Easy work around.

Haha. DWZ was great and we are lucky that he worked out so well and was available le at the right time.

But if another fullback becomes available like Papenhuyzen, or if they signed Latrell to play there, then DWZ could easily be moved to the wing or centres. They could even rotate throughout the game as many other teams do.

As great as he was last season, one thing Dallin lacked as a fullback was a passing game and the ability to set up tries for others.

Latrell Mitchell wants to play fullback at the Dogs … but they already have one

Kangaroos centre Latrell Mitchell has told a Bulldogs board member of his desire to play fullback in the latest twist in what has become a complex and ugly standoff with back-to-back premiers the Sydney Roosters.

Fox Sports has learned Mitchell spoke to a Canterbury board member on Tuesday after Roosters coach Trent Robinson personally delivered the news the club was withdrawing its $1.8 million offer for 2021 and 2022.

Mitchell told the board member of his desire to play fullback – but the catch is Canterbury are in a conundrum now after recently announcing the re-signing of Kiwi Test player Dallin Watene-Zelezniak.

So the Bulldogs can probably only sign Mitchell as a centre. And no other centre in the game is on more than $1 million a season.

Which is what the Bulldogs are now set to attempt to thrash out at a recruitment and retention meeting in Belmore on Wednesday afternoon.

How much is Mitchell worth to the club?

The other issue for Canterbury-Bankstown is the Bulldogs only have about $400,000 of salary cap room for next season, meaning the club isn’t in a position to sign Mitchell for 2020 unless it attempts to shift other players. Or if Kieran Foran was to gain some salary cap relief for being injured playing Test football for New Zealand.

Mitchell made his NRL debut on the wing before moving to fullback where he had mixed results for the Roosters in the year the club finished 15th in 2016.

The Roosters then switched him to the centres where Mitchell went on to play for NSW and Australia and establish a reputation as a game-breaking three-quarter.

The Wests Tigers are one club who has money and will be prepared to play the Kangaroos centre at fullback.

They’ve emerged as a surprise, left-field contender.

South Sydney general manager of football Shane Richardson told Fox Sports the Rabbitohs had no interest in signing the Kangaroos centre.

The Bunnies also said the same thing about James Roberts earlier in the year and then signed ‘Jimmy the Jet’ a month later.

The Newcastle Knights were another possible option given the Hunter region’s proximity to Mitchell’s home town of Taree.

But the club is not believed to be in a salary cap position to make a play for Mitchell, who is currently in Taree.

DWZ is a better FB than what Mitchell is, and Mitchell is a better centre than what DWZ is.

Fuck it, lets sign the **** so you can "justify" the price tag.

You're a loony
I don't care where either of them play. Just Latrell is a must for me. I'd prefer Latrell Centre > Fullback > Five-Eighth but if the only way to get him is Fullback you can't pass on it. You also can't say DWZ is a better Fullback then Latrell.

Apparently we don't need a fullback even IF a better option is available

If I were to choose between Latrell or Kieran to play 5/8th for 1.2 million I believe the money would be more wisely spent with Latrell. He has a great kicking game and has the ability to create space for the players around him with his strength and evasion. No doubt he could learn more finesse in that position also. He could always play in a different position if it fails. I just can't see him being a worse investment than Foran, far from it.

Obviously you have no interest in signing Latrell like many others and that's fair enough.

But who would you like the club to sign for 2021?

DWZ has shown his loyalty to our club in such a short time him being with the dogs. If you want the same from our other players his the player to follow. Dont even want to compare Mitchell with DWZ for ticker. Give me DWZ any day.

Sign him play him at center for the defense and let him roam aka Tommy Turbo I’m SOO 2 of last year. Could work well having two roaming in attack, defense lines would be in tatters, we could be a force.

Looks like the light bulb has finally gone off for Latrell and his management that he will only get big money playing in the spine and now he magically wants to play fullback!
