The Sydney Roosters have today advised the management of Latrell Mitchell that the Club’s offer for 2021 and beyond has been withdrawn following discussions with Latrell today.

Latrell has expressed that he would like to explore his options for season 2021, however he remains under contract with the Roosters for season 2020

He might as well have just written he’s chasing the cash instead of that last paragraph.
If he was a professional he would not off bothered with the mole . Showing how immature he is,, needs to do some growing up...

That's pretty massive news. With Cronk retiring and them letting Latrell walk this will give the Roosters free reign to sign $8 million worth of talent without anyone questioning it.

If we don't sign Latrell surely only a few other clubs can? I can't see how Parra could afford him with them having about $4 million locked up in Moses, Ferguson, Gutherson, Brown, Paulo and Sivo alone...

Maybe Souths with the NRL breaking he rules for them again?

Likely a case of "You can't quit cause you're fired" by the roosters

Just trying save face by looking staunch.

Dogs must sign him up ASAP. Latrell would wanna give it to the roosters first game against them.

But no doubt souths will wrap him up now the NRL conveniently retired Burgess a day before criminal charges laid against him.

Fuck man you can't make this shit up... this sport is such a farce...

Surely the mole is off, west tigers have money , we have money and the eels have money .. who he goes to is up
To him
But we are building towards something special.. but the Indigenous connection at Souths may work for him too

You make a fair point but there’s a difference in being unhappy as DWZ was at Penrith and being an arrogant prick as Mitchell appears to be.
If he’s that closely aligned with Mundine he’ll be a fucking disaster

The Sydney Roosters have rescinded their $800,000 contract offer to superstar centre Latrell Mitchell in a high-profile meeting on Tuesday.

Nine's veteran rugby league reporter Danny Weidler revealed, coach Trent Robinson met with Mitchell on Tuesday and retracted the club's offer for the 2020 season after weeks of protracted negotiations.

"Latrell Mitchell had a meeting today with Roosters coach Trent Robinson," Weidler Exclusively told Nine News.

"At that meeting, Trent Robinson told Latrell Mitchell, the Roosters' offer for 2020 has been withdrawn. The $800,000 offer has been taken away.

"It's a strong stance by the Roosters. Latrell Mitchell now will probably have to look toward the Bulldogs.

"He isn't off contract for another season so the Roosters may make another play for him down the track. But right now that offer is off the table."

The Roosters confirmed the move in a statement released on Tuesday afternoon.

"The Sydney Roosters have today advised the management of Latrell Mitchell that the Club's offer for 2021 and beyond has been withdrawn following discussions with Latrell today," the statement read.

"Latrell has expressed that he would like to explore his options for season 2021, however he remains under contract with the Roosters for season 2020. "

Holding on to Mitchell has proven a difficult task for the Roosters who failed to re-sign the two-time premiership winner ahead of the November 1 deadline, allowing him to shop his worth on the open market.

Reports of messy negotiations due to the fact that Mitchell's self-evaluation of his value is considerably higher than what the Roosters have so far been prepared to offer him, opened the door for rival clubs to swoop, most notably the Canterbury Bulldogs.

However, on Tuesday, Wide World of Sports reported that the Bulldogs had dropped off their chase for Latrell Mitchell, leaving the enigmatic centre's future in limbo.

It now appears his current club have done the same with the back-to-back premiers playing hard-ball with their ethereal talent.

According to Weidler, Mitchell was reportedly left "insulted" by the Roosters' offer of $800,000 a season as the club looked to reach a conclusion to the ongoing saga this week.

Mitchell was also reportedly left miffed at the Roosters after feeling that he didn't receive the praise that teammates James Tedesco and Luke Keary had heaped on them after their recent premiership title.

He’s in the wrong profession if he can’t handle all the rumours about contract talks. It’s a massive part of the game these days.

Just because they have taken the offer off the table doesn’t mean they can’t put it back on at a later date. I think Latrell’s management and playing games with everyone.

I dunno about you guys, but I thought the Roosters players acted a little uneasy when Uncle Nick was doing the rounds after the GF... Latrell needs to come to a club where he can be happy on and off the field

I think the Roosters are done with him, they don't want to deal with his attitude any longer and can easily afford to sit back and replace him.

Yeah you could be right actually. He needs the Roosters more then the Roosters need him.
