Brisbane veteran Matt Gillett is reportedly no certainty to continue his NRL career as he battles injury.

The Broncos forward fought his way back onto the park this season following a broken neck suffered in 2018, but according to a Courier-Mail report, a shoulder injury now threatens his future.
Gillett suffered the injury late in the season, and with Broncos players returning for pre-season training next week, it remains to be seen what his involvement will be.

The 31-year-old is contract until the end of the 2022 season and his forced retirement could have a big impact on the Broncos’ salary cap.

Gillett burst onto the scene when he made his NRL debut for the Broncos in 2010 and he went on to play his first Origin for Queensland in 2012 before debuting for the Kangaroos in 2014.
While recovering from his neck injury in 2018, he signed a four-year contract extension with the Broncos.

The fierce defender returned to the field this year, featuring in 17 games for the Broncos and returning to the Origin arena for the first two games of the series before a knee injury ruled him out of the decider.
He copped a back injury at training late in the season which saw his shoulder issue flare up.

Meanwhile, The Courier-Mail also reports Broncos young gun Kotoni Staggs has agreed to a new deal with the club until the end of 2022.

The news follows the retention of strike winger Corey Oates on a one-year extension, with a player option until 2022.

More money for Fifita I guess.

Yeah it’s the Broncs but he was a no nonsense player that always gave his all. Not a grub.
Interesting to see how both thus and Burgess go cap wise
