Thoughts on how you would achieve complying with the salary cap this year. It's 9.6 million and to be competitive you really need 2 top knotch players.

2 x 1 million
3 x $700k
4 x $400k
6 x $300k
5 x $210k
10 x $105k

These amounts would have to be your template. How can teams do it? Beats me. My figures are fairly conservative but that's $M9.6

A lot of people on here don't think we need 2 top players. We should just sign all the best of the NRLs fresh reserves and reserve graders (and aim for 8th or slightly better each year)

TPAs help out a lot. Only thing is I can’t see our club bringing them in. Even Klemmers fell through, and he’s a household name. So if you calculate an extra 10-15% in 3rd party payments, that’s an extra 1-2M to help top up accounts.

Mate chooks only had 250k in tpas
Most clubs feck all
Defiantly not 10-15%
All tpas were published, only teams with 10% were storm and broncos
So put a pen through that....

I don't think there is one way of doing it. You're always going to have to sacrifice somewhere. It'll also depend on how the team plays, what they currently have and what they need.

1. 1m
2. 300k
3. 700k
4. 300k
5. 300k
6. 400k
7. 1m
8. 700k
9. 400k
10. 400k
11. 400k
12. 300k
13. 700k

14. 300k
15. 300k
16. 210k
17. 210k

This actually looks quite like the Manly model.

Stop being naive. What has the history of sport taught you?

We all know that, do figures and pay everyone 1mil each in that case....
Easy
Not saying that. I’m saying there are some teams who are excellent in doing those sorts of things.
Unfortunately we don’t have that power. We did, but got caught out.
Money talks, and so does player agents. One day we will have some power again. But def not in the near future
