Half time St Helens 12 Salford 6
Good game so far Salford have had a try denied to Tui Lolahea for a obstruction Hastings has improved since leaving the NRL from what I understand with his deal is he is locked in for 2020 with Wigan but if free to take up a NRL deal in 2021 he would be good for any club looking for a utility. Salford where the better team in the last 20 in both attack and defence st Helens where the better side in the 1st 20 it's a piss poor crowd for a grand final lot of empty seats

Full time there was another penalty goal and a 35 drop goal from Tommy Makinson st Helens winning 23 Salford 6 I would have given Luke Thompson man of the match played 75 mins straight in the front row hopefully the club looks at signing him

Would Thompson be more suited as a lock here rather than prop?

I reckon he could hold his own in both positions he certainly isn't the biggest prop going around but he one that will keep on going all game

I wouldn't mind taking a look at the centre Mark Percival he is strong in defence and good in attack every time I watched him play he always one of St Helens better players as well I no the backs from England struggle over here but I think he could make a good go of it maybe we could swap Holland and Montoya for him wishful thinking I no

Steps like Jmoz

Just finished watching thr game. I agree that Luke Thompson had a strong game. I also thought the other prop walmsley played well too. Quite skilful. Jackson Hastings seems a more mature and team orientated player than in his Manly and Roosters days.

Lock would be great for him here tbh especially if/when the interchange is reduced as he's pretty mobile.

He would be worth a punt, linked up really well with Barba last season and adjusted to the Coote / attacking changes this season so seems like a team player. I just don't think players like that are worth the risk for us at this point though with so many great young centres waiting in the wings here.

Walmsley is a beast played very well in the GF. Hope he comes to the NRL at some point, preferably with us lol.

For the boards sake lets just hope the decision not to sack Pay and hire Holbrook works out.
