I just want a true hard-man in the front row, which neither Klemmer or Napa are. Klemmer is a meter eater only who doesn't scare anyone with his defence and Napa can do an occasional hit but is too slow and more of a bench-impact sort of player. If Renouf keeps improving he'll give us some creativity and ruck speed in the middle, but we need someone to scare teams a bit. Fifita would do, even though he's a backrower (at this stage).

Napa over Klem any everyday to answer the question. No asshole policy is good.

At the Roosters, Napa tried to compete with the big boys in the team. He had to do things that boosted his image.
Some of those things resulted in him getting suspended. At the Dogs, he and Tolman are probably the only top props in the club.
He doesnt have to compete. He just goes about the usual things prop forwards do. Hes going OK.

he had several in the mid 100's also .. I think he was judged extremely harshly this year by the kennel TBH
Yep. He provides the metres we need. Only problem left with him is that when he's fatigued he quite often gets caught shirt grapping and misses some crucial tackles down the middle.

his second phase play wasn't great either .. but he did often provide good go forward.. he also had an injury interrupted season.

My point is, he provided almost as much as klemmer would have , except for probably half the price..

Yep agree. No where near as bad as the kennel is making him out to be. Think he provided more than klemmer from an attacking point of view

In one of the feel-good stories of the year, Knights star David Klemmer has donated his entire State of Origin pay packet to Newcastle Jersey Flegg coach Scott Dureau in his brave battle against cancer.
Dureau, a former Knights playmaker, has battled two lots of brain cancer and a further bout in his liver.
The multiple visits to hospital, surgeries and chemotherapy treatment have drained Dureau's finances.

Klemmer is extremely close to the 33-year-old and had no hesitation in handing his $60,000 for his two State of Origin appearances for New South Wales this year to his mate.
The tough prop played games one and three for Brad Fittler's victorious Blues, missing the second game through injury.
A humble and generous man, Klemmer donated the money anonymously and wanted no recognition for his gesture.

Dureau underwent his latest round of chemotherapy on his liver recently and early test results are encouraging.
But he won't know how successful the treatment has been for several months.

Men of League have also been supportive of Dureau, holding a fundraising dinner for the former halfback early this year.
Broncos skipper Darius Boyd gave the club an autographed Brisbane jumper which was one of a host of items that brought in valuable funds at auction.

Perhaps we could lay off Klemm just a tad. Say what you want about the guy, but this shows he has a heart of gold and gave up $60k cold hard cash for a team mate in need.

The better side of Klemmer. Well done.

He seems to get very close with anyone who has time to spend with him though... i.e. Woods they only met during origin and are best mates lmao? Now this guy who he has only been a year with at the Knights

Good on him for helping an ill man in need though, it didn't really need to be in the news more so just do it to help.

Reminds me of that sports minister in Yes Prime Minister, when defending tobacco companies as benefactors for sponsoring sport, he was told they could still sponsor sport, but anonymously. His response "they would be ok with that so long as they could publicise the fact that they were sponsoring sports anonymously"...

So he should, by all accounts he's on around 800K a year, as by that logic 60 grand is nothing.

In fact, I think every origin player should give at least one of their match payments to charity by default

I wonder how many people give 7.5% of their salary to charity though. He’s as dumb as dog shit with no future career in coaching or the media. I don’t like him anymore but still think it’s a very generous thing to do

LOLLLL wtf why should they? How fucking stupid is that statement. In what other workplace or profession do people give up their match payments or wages to charity. Very few athletes do it and this was overly generous considering James Graham only gave up his 400th game jersey to help a team mate in a similar circumstance at the dragons.
