To be a genuine chance at winning a comp from 2021 and thereafter I believe we need a team / squad as below. I've also listed likely salaries for each player so we could fit under the cap of 9.1M. I know it's probably not 100% correct in values (especially by 2021) but it's close and if you can do better please feel free to have a crack.

People keep complaining about Latrell Mitchell being hot and cold / in and out of games and not being worth a MIL a season for a non spine player. Well we definitely need at least 2 strike players in the backline (someone who can create something from nothing). If Mitchell were playing fullback he would naturally be more involved in all games thus earning his keep as a spine player. At fullback he could be close to a Tedesco. Remember also he's a goal kicker and also kicks in general play and has a pretty decent boot. If we lost Lewis we would need someone who can kick for "distance" and if Meaney were demoted for Radradra we need a goalkicker.

To fit in 3 big signings of Latrell Mitchell, Semi Radradra and David Fifita we would need to shed Adam Elliott, Aiden Tolman, Lachlan Lewis, Marcelo Montoya, Kerrod Holland, Sauaso Sue but it would be worth it to get ALL the 3 players above. Would like to retain Lewis and Tolman as back up but don't think it's possible / affordable unfortunately. Also I believe we're stuck with Crichton until 2021 unless we can shed him somewhere else. He wouldn't be on huge money though anyway.

For those of you unfamiliar with Devontai Seumanutafa, he's a great young middle forward recently promoted from SG Ball to ISP. He's from that famous Keebra Park high school. Remember he was the guy who set some benchpress record while still at school. I saw a clip of him recently breaking 5 tackles in a row during a run downfield.

I read of the squad of 30, 4 players can be on $75,000 then the rest the minimum wage would be $110,000 by 2021. Can spend 200K per year on long serving player/s outside of cap plus 100K in car allowances. Third party agreements are unlimited but players can only do work for companies not officially tied to the club (ie sponsors) and the companies cannot promote in media etc that the player plays for the .....

During an 80 minute NRL game, Latrell Mitchell plays for 10 minutes while he goes away with the fairies for the remainder 70 minutes, and you think he can play fullback?

Latrell's a lazy Centre, definitely something he needs to work on (regardless if Centre or Fullback). Latrell's point scoring would take a hit in our team (as we don't have a Keary or Cronk and their side overall is superior), but adding the leading point scorer and 2nd most try scoring player in the game to our side would be a massive boost, especially when scoring points is a massive issue for us. I'd also say Latrell's struggled after Origin 1 and he can be better. I've enjoyed Meaney's improvement, but I'm not 100% he's going to be a long term Winger for us which means we're going to need a goal kicker, Latrell is a tier 1 goal kicker. I'd play him Centre, but he's going to be an expensive Centre.

Canterbury in my opinion will keep foran, his a class act and a player who can steer a team and win games, it will be interesting on who to recruit, Cameron mc innes has to be our 9, a class centre is needed along with a enforcer in the packs that's 3 guys, how easy is that with our cap space,

Latrell/Manu
David Fifita/Radradra

I'd retain Tolman, Elliott and Lewis.

Foran won't be offered that much (if he demands that much I'd say we'd let him walk).
Jackson will be offered 700k (500k if using veteran allowance).
DWZ will be offered 600-700k (especially at Fullback).
There are probably a few more I disagree with.

Latrell Mitchell is inconsistent, and MIA in games until it suits him. The Roosters will not let him go, so we are wasting our time even talking about him.

Sharks are not going to release Xerri. Xerri's on contract until 2022. You'd need Xerri to pull a Matterson, which I guess is more likely these days... even then I think Sharks would move on other plays and meet in the middle somewhere, not sure why Tigers are not meeting in the middle with Matterson's demands (bad cap management probably, not allowing/planning for these sort of things).

Not true. With the way you're talking about Latrell, Roosters' are not going to offer Latrell anything more then 600-700k. It'd come down to if Latrell would take a 300k (1.5m over 5 years) pay cut. Yes, it would cost 900k-1m to lure him away...

I know you love him scoob, but the more I see of him the less he impresses me.

Shocking defensively and can't even pass to his winger properly
Yea I do, can’t help it.. but he’s still a super start an may just be having a bad patch. Would love to see him in our jersey :p

Might as well estimate how many drops of rain will fall in your backyard as estimate what portion of the salary cap is eaten up by the players we have.

Can we start handing out bans for people who keep posting these threads.

CHN needs to grow his hair longer - he'd be heaps more fearsome. And RT should never cut his. Even Tol's was a lot more aggressive when his hair was shaggy back in the Storm days. I reckon if a few of them grow their hair, maybe get some dreads (eg Hoppa and Jacko), and we sign Fifita, we should be right for 2021.

I prefer your second team. Not a big fan of latrell .. Too cocky... Then sooky when he has a bad game.( Post origin)... And not sure why everyone gets a hard on over Manu either.
I'd throw all my money on Semi Radrada then keep what we have in:
Dwz
Smith
Hoppa
Meaney
Harper
Okunbar

They all seem to be getting more familiar with each other as the games go on... With Semi on the wing we then have 7 solid backs to play with as well as lower grade feeders

Manu is an absolute weapon. That’s why. Unbelievable talent and young.
