Fan of peats! But he is a Dessie styled hooker - defender and a worker.

Not bad, I like him though. Better than lichaa, he’s got something between the ears and seems like a good bloke to have around the dressing room.

we need to address issues in the spine but I just don't think Peats is a longer terms and has regressed since he played Origin... I would prefer we persist with JMK before signing Peats
I’m happy to persist with JMK but we need back up as well.

Anyone that plays for the Gold Coast goes backwards. Maybe a change of clubs is what he needs. But I wouldn't brake the bank for him.

Peats is the type of hooker the game is leaving behind. No thanks

Peats would at least be worth considering as a back up on reasonable money IMHO, he has been playing for the Titans, anyone should see just how dispersing it has been for all the players their, over the last few years, as they say a change is as good as holiday.

100% correct. You need to have more than just a good selective pass and a solid tackler. The really good ones these days are more like an extra half with attacking skill, speed and a kicking game.

The coaching staff are looking for a second hooker to support JMK
They’re not going to break the bank over this deal but it is an essential signing moving into next season
M.L probably won’t play again in the blue/white
Don’t forget it’s a budget player till next year when real dollars available

For a Dummy Half that's played Origin and been missing for the last few years, he's still relatively young.

Big mistake going up to the Gold Coast in what should have been his prime years.

I'd be happy to take a punt on him at the right price.
Gold Coast was a strong team 07-2010 since then anyone who goes there turns to shit

Yep, Kevin Proctor comes to mind, chased the $$ but hasn’t had any success, begs the question that the game is short, do you want premierships/accolades or $$?

Clearly, you want both but you need to balance out the risk of moving to a club that is rebuilding and in a tough market (Gold Coast) with the lure of the extra $$

@bradyk - how much is Peats worth?

What will he be commanding?

How much over in overs do we have to spend to reel him in?

Happy for Jmk to take the 9 at this rate. At least he will be Loyal and be much improved next year..

If we do sign a specialist 9 then hip hip hooray..!!!!

I wouldn't mind if we picked him up cheaply. Someone with good service and defence boosts the ability of your forwards and the time the halves have. If we were running a hooker on the bench it allows JMK to be halves backup and provide some spark later in the match. But we're being linked with pretty much every player that still owns football boots.
