No surprise, the're rusted on. Thats how I'd like our best juniors to react.
100%.. call it DNA, culture, loyalty call it whatever you want. That is the mindset we want at Canterbury, players who want to be here who want to win and not just cop a pay cheque..

Until they've resigned I'm not giving up. We'd literally kill their club ("rip their heart out") for a few years if we were able to get them. If this article is true tho I think it was always going to be unlikely they'd want to talk before the season is over and technically we can't speak with them until after November.

No need for jake. Tom would be good, but he’s not leaving his brother.

Oh well good for us in not wasting time and bad for them by showing their cards and probably losing a couple hundred k's in contract. Manly scum anyways!

No surprises there. Now let's not do them a favour by taking Api off their hands to clear cap space for them and just ride it out with JMK til a cheaper, young option becomes available.

Hopefully that means they can't match offers for Fainu, Cust, AFB etc down the road.

I still think Turbo is overrated and not worth what it would take to sign him. He is a great talent but injury prone and makes a tonne of errors. He has games where he completely dominates and others where he's just another good player.

Jake is way more consistent but also not worth more than $1 million a year or whatever it would take him to leave.

This seems much ado about nothing...

They may well be focused on the finals, and don't want the distraction. Money talks and bullshit walks. Who would have thought we'd sign Des Hasler from Manly after winning a Grand Final?

Their manager will be wanting maximum coin from the next contract they sign. So manly may have to pay the million dollars a season even though the brothers are manly through and through, which potentially means Manly have 3 million dollar players on the books (DCE is on a % of the cap that goes up every year) so manly will need to be super good with cap management over the next 5-10 years. You’d thing the eagles wouldn’t be letting Des handle any of this after his history with us.
Also agree Tommy is a little injury prone
Would have liked them but in this day and age loyalty is rare and as said in previous posts there hearts wouldn’t be in it at the dogs and we don’t need 2 million of our cap playing ‘half hearted’

Get bloody Klemmer to read this. If you enjoy playing for a club you shouldn’t even consider the prospect of leaving. Klemmer was probably more bulldog than these guys are manly, yet he walked as soon as he smelt the coin
