We need a goal kicker so we can play a actual winger in Okunbor

Meaney isn’t that bad but he doesn’t offer much in attack which is where we need to improve on as we have been worse in attack this year compared to last year

So I think get a goal kicker so we can stengthen our attack with Okunbor who just needs consistency and needs to work on his defence

But Who???

Mitchell, Lomax.

Ash Taylor if he comes very cheap, but not a huge fan.

Why can't the NRL be more like the NFL and have a special goal kicker allowed to run onto the field as a conversion specialist? Since we can't clone El Magic this would have been the next best thing in extending Hazem El Masri's Bulldogs career :grinning:

Wakeham and Jake averillo are both excellent goal kickers - or at least were, - hope one or both will be consistent first graders in 2020 or 2021. Jackson Topine is also a goal kicker - optins in the juniors coming through.

Staggs is another that would be a good pick up.
Fuck yes..!!! As would Fifita be also!!

But we have Holland and that seems the logical choice unfortunately.

Heard Fifita can be approached NOV 1 also. He's a beast and would not get nowhere near as much offered from the Broncs you'd think from what clubs like we could offer.

Broncos would find brown paper bags to help get his signing over the line.
They’ve deliberately let senior players go so that they can re-sign guys like Fifita and Staggs.

Fifita and Staggs would be fucking ace signings, as unlikely as they seem.

People are getting so caught up with buying players and forget we have legitimate options in lower grades.

For the first time since about 2012 there are some genuine "potential" first grade quality players in the lower grades and in junior rep sides - not all will make it but its a huge step forward. Im of the opinion that the signing of DWZ was the clubs best move in terms of players since 2011

Totally agree you never know if they will cut it in first grade but we would be pretty unlucky if we didn't get at least 1 or 2 go onto to decent NRL players and hopefully there is more then that.

Do you know whats happened to Ryan Gray he hasn't been sighted for months! I assume he's injured?

Was injured earlier this year - he was struggling with the physical nature of the 20s, particularly defensively - in my opinion, although still clever from dummy half. Hetherington and Lachie Talau have apparently been going well since.
On defence and physicality I think the club got something seriously wrong in the off season with either strength training or defensive techniques - was apparent from trials across the grades that previously good defensive players were struggling to defend and dominate.

Thanks mate. That was always the concern with Gray he had a awkward body shape for a hooker hopefully he can come back stronger next year he’s still young. I agree with the defence I’m not sure if it was a structure thing or actually the way we were tackling but it wasn’t working.

Totally agree. Look for what we don’t have coming through and not force developing talent elsewhere. I cry when I see the talent we have let go and the duds we bought in on inflated contracts. After last week, if that performance continues things will be looking up.
