Des did well of Kevin Moore’s roster and talent found before fuckhead crusher Cleal

Let’s not forget the salary cap mess he left at manly for others to clean up when he came here.

He and his Manly scum destroyed our juniors & ruined our cap also they recruited absolute shit... he is a cancer

Now he walks in to a roster built by others again... but history says he’ll fuck it all up

Whats your point. We all know he got sacked. We were the joke of the league and cap fucked for years.
Yeah you are complaining you don't like seeing Des doing well at Manly right?

My point is he never got to finish the job at Canterbury.
Would Klemmer have left if Des was still there.
Would Des have got Woods playing better at Canterbury.
Would there have been the "salary cap crisis" if Des was still there.

You can't criticise the paiting when you replaced the painter half way through.
The club ownes the outcome not Des.

He’s got lucky in the sense of the playing rosters. He’s got aspects of his coaching which is unbelievably good. But also some aspects that are horrible. His roster management is terrible.
Did you see the Melbourne v Manly game?
Des showed how to beat Melbourne, shut down theit set plays.

I find it interesting that Des has never shown interest in ANY player that he has coached at the Dogs.

It's a little unusual given that he brought over several players that he coached at Manly and all payed well above market value for fuck all output.

Coz the ones at the dogs he coached are on highly inflated contracts thanks to des, and he ain’t paying that for them

Trex n Foran over 6 years is hardly brining several players over ....

Des is a fucking manly stooge who completely fucked this club with back ended contacts and multi million dollar duds and he walked into a star studded manly line up and got instant success and anyone who thinks that had anything to do with his coaching abilities is a fucking moron

IMO Haslers issue is more about assembling a premiership winning team .. he made dud calls in recruitment & retention which saw us have a poor spine for many years and so the dud attack.. Mbye in the spine, Perrett Fullback, Keating and Hodko in the spine etc etc..

But in terms of 'coaching' he can get a team punching above their weight and playing consistently..

Hes the sort of coach you would have focused purely on coaching, and leave recruitment / retention to others that are capable..
Thats not a big deal. Have him do nothing but the coaching and let someone else recruit.

But no, our club and fanbase are too braindead to think like that.

He'll eventually grind this Manly team into the dirt, just give it time.
Took Manly 5 years to get sick of him the first time, and 5 years to get the flick from us. So he's probably sitting pretty for another 4 years. About how long it takes him to screw a club into the ground

Winning record at Manly 59%, winning record at Canterbury 57%. It's the same, the real issue was halves combinations at Canterbury weren't of the same quality that he had at Manly.

It was 7 years at Manly and they weren't "sick of him".

HE GOT SACKED FFS!!!!

That was the club’s decision, Des wanted to stay with the club.
Exactly, he got the arse. Why would he voluntarily leave when he had total control of everything and was being paid like a king and delivered very little?

going by his record Des has never been a big recruiting coach.. he prefers to work with what he has usually and get the best out of them..

From memory Manly recruited Orford and Kenedy at the back end of his career during his initial stint there.. not much else.. everyine else he brought through the grades..
