It's amazing how many people get away with stealing at these self-serve checkouts. All they need to do is pay for things and load them back in trolley without using bags... and keep somethings in the trolley without paying for them. I don't do that though.
I used to have a friend who worked for Woolworths and he said they have some sort of leeway insurance policy where it doesn't matter if products get stolen, as someone at the top still makes money, regardless if the item is sold legitimately or not.

Always happens mate. For instance, Hot Wheels cost $2 at regular retailers, whereas Coles and Woolies sell them for $3 - how can they justify that?

I caught a taxi once and the driver was Indian Dogs cousin (jokes) and he was some sort of Indian-Muslim and he said that in his religion they believe that if you come across money in a dirty way, ie stealing it, karma will hit you from that very object, say for instance they steal $50 and buy food... they might get food poisoning - or if they steal a very fast car, they can get seriously injured in an accident etc...

When you have greedy board of directors who think their shit don't stink what do you expect?

I we had more variety in this country.
We're practically slaves to corporations like woolworths

Then you sue the place where you bought the food.

Well it's not really about karma doing me good... I just really wanted to give it back to her. I know that if it happened to me I would've wanted the person to hand it back.

I remember about 15-20 years ago, I was going for a walk in the area, heading down to the shops. I saw a little card pouches you see from banks... I saw one on the ground and it had the commonwealth bank logo on it. I thought it was just empty rubbish but I picked it up and opened it up. There was a commonwealth bank card in there as well as hundreds of dollars cash. My first instinct was to go to the bank and see what they could do so I can contact the guy.

So I proceeded. Way up ahead in the distance, I saw some guy with his dog back-tracking, running hard and fast... the poor dog was confused and didn't know what the heck was going on. The man was shouting at his dog telling it to run faster and faster as they back-tracked. I immediately knew it was the guy who dropped it. I showed him I had it when it was about 20 metres away so he could calm down. He said thanks and shook my head. Then he turned around and went back up towards the shops as well and I just walked with him for a bit as I was heading in that direction. It turns out he was on his way to real estate agency to pay the rent. It felt good doing that... I enjoyed helping that bloke out.
I agree, a good deed is a good deed, and it makes you feel good. But I like to think karma comes back to you in these cases. And i think it does.
Many years ago I was in a shopping centre in Maroochydore and I sat down to use one of those ol school internet kiosk things and someone had left their wallet on it. I opened it up and there was about $2500 in it. I checked the name on his licence and then went to the centre management office and asked them to page him for me. When he arrived I handed him his wallet back, and without hesitation he opened it up, pulled out a $50 and gave it to me. Turns out he was on his way to buy a car.
I have been mostly lucky in my life. Travelled all over the world and visited some pretty sketchy places. But I have had very few bad things happen on all of those adventures. I like to think that it's because of the good karma I have generated.

What goes around comes around. This is true.

But when you have an evil older brother who has cursed you then its more rare good things will happen.

Yes sir! Hey... no footy was on. It's a Netflix night.

Ironically... there's footy on tonight, and it's also a Netflix night (because we're playing and I ain't watching that frustrating shit).

Cheese and bacon cheezels for the win.

Also the Snickers always remind me of an insult " Your girlfriend is like a Snickers bar... Always got her mouth packed full of nuts"

(I still have it buried somewhere in a box in the garage amongst a shit load of cd's and ps2 games)
I've got my porno dvds sitting in my dvd shelf along with my other dvds. I have no shame lol.

If I had my own place I'd have porno laying all over the place.

But being a sad man living with my mum and sister I can't just gloat about my favourite porn stars or leave porn lying around carelessly.

Ok, now I like to take pride in being a good person (despite some of the sick, twisted shyte you may read on here), and yesterday something happened.

In the past, (and I'm sure this has happened to a few of us) I have gone to Coles and used the self checkout and found some change that hasn't been collected at the unit that was used. I have always picked up the coins and given them to the team member there. Now I don't know what they do with it, hold it for a certain time if someone comes back asking for it, or put it back in the machine, or steal it themselves, but that's something I've done.

Now yesterday, I went to use a unit, and waited for the person in front of me to finish. I went up, scanned my 3 items, and put my cash in. I selected no receipt, and then waited for my change to come out. As I did so, I saw a $20 note sitting there in the dispenser. I thought... this can't be mine, I only put $5 in... and my change came out. So I picked up my change and the $20. I remembered what the lady in front of me looked like so I walked outside hoping to find her in the car park... but she wasn't there. There wasn't even anyone loading/unloading things into their car.

I walked back onto the street and couldn't see her anywhere. I walked around the block to see if she was parked on the street or used the alternate entry into the car park... no luck. What I was going to do was ask her if she could show me the receipt from her purchase to see if the $20 change she should've had was correct. I simply would've told her that some money was left unattended and if her receipt adds up I would've given it to her.

I couldn't see her anywhere however I really wanted to give her the $20 back - it would've been a good deed. I didn't hand it back to the shop either because technically, it wasn't their money, it was hers (most likely).

Did I commit a crime? If so, how?
Larceny by find.

You can say that again, sold Woolies a lot of fruit before I sold out and retired they are ruthless beyond belief.

@Wahesh I know you rated it funny but it's actually true. It's happened to a patron of a bowling club I bounced at.
I was doing security at a pub just north of the bridge and there was a function upstairs.
After it was over they decide to hit the pokies.
I think they were some rich Italiano brats?
Carried on like they owned the place being loud etc.

I told them stern to turn it down 2 or 3 db’s.
The biggest loud mouth of the group starts giving me shit.
I just shook my head, was about to take it further but looked down and noticed a nice greenback sitting all on it’s lonesome!

No one noticed but me, I picked it up and no one noticed.
I had it in my hand in plain sight and still these dumb pricks didn’t notice.
I was about to be an idiot and ask one of the rich daddies bitches which one dropped it?
But then the horns popped out and it went straight in my pocket!

What happened there bro?
A lady found 100 dollars in an ATM and took it. The drunk owner forgot to take it, then later realised what happened, called the cops, cops came and inspected footage and charged the lady for larceny by find.

She got a section 10 with 12 months good behaviour bond.

Needless to say the club banned the drunk **** for life for being a ****.
