I wouldn't be discounting QLD just yet... give them a couple good forwards and they will be very hard to beat again considering how much better their halves options are in comparison to NSW's

Agreed, they still have the framework for a good side.
We have struggled for dominant, long term halves since Johns.
Cleary can do a job but he's no game breaker.
Maloney and Pearce are toward the ends of their careers.
We sorely need a long term dominant halves combo to fill the spine with Cook and Teddy who are long term.

Trying to milk the penalty on 5th just moments before when all they needed was a half decent play the ball for DCE to have a crack at field goal was also criminal.

In fairness though he was fairly solid throughout. Held his own for the most part and I thought made some good defensive reads.

Mate keary been killing it for 2 years and a game breaker, only missed this year because of his injury’s/concussion
