I find it weird that Kearney, Arthur, Pay at taught under Bellamy yet they are all fucking rubbish.
It is weird that Pay has struggled in the most basics of our game,
What has he just forgot whatever Bellamy taught in regards to teaching skill sets, defence and set pieces in attack
That was a failed apprenticeship big time.

It’s a weird phenomenon in other sports too. The New England Patriots have domainted NFL for years under Bill Bilecheck but any assistant coaches that became head coaches elsewhere were massive failures.
head coach feeding them rubbish to dilute the competition lol

Not all bellamys former assistants are bad. Maguire has won a premiership.

Or may be hes just such a dominant character and only idiots can stand working under him. Lol
went over to the superleague and had success yes. souffs though was another kettle of fish, NRL catered to them etc... but at least he blows a gasket and trains the fuck out of his side rather than claiming they are fit like our club.

Jason Taylor.
Taylor somehow managed a 44% winning record. Pay’s is under 30%. Pay is about 5 wins short of matching Taylor’s percentage and has coached a crapload less games (~100 less). Both belong in the conversation of worst coaches though

How’s he going v Nathan Brown before this year.

He’s the bar for shit coaching, Pay has to be close you’d think.

Quick calculations so might be off.
Brown has a 53% win% from his time at the dragons which is alright.

Coaching Dragons and Knights
102/236 = 43.8%

Coaching dragons and knights pre-2019
95/223 = 42.6%

Knights 2016-2018
15/72 = 20.8% (haha)

Knights 2016-2019
22/85 = 25.8% (still haha)

Can see why he was on thin ice at Newie and owes Ponga and Pearce a beer or two

Sometimes a coach just doesn’t have the character or personality to be a FG coach. They may have a lot of knowledge in coaching but are just not born to lead. E.g bad communication with the playing group/coaching staff etc

Wow, great research man, thanks!

I knew his stint at the Knights was shit but didn’t realise how much...

I’m guessing his Knights tenure prior to this year doesn’t make for good reading!

I've just received very strong mail the Canterbury Bulldogs are headed for disaster!
___
Head coach Dean Pay will be out of a job, sooner rather than later. He has run out of ideas & options. Subsequently, he has well & truly lost the playing group.
___
Pay's fundamental issue is his communication to his players. He has chopped & changed his side this entire season & failed to keep his men in the loop.
___
Raymond Faitala-Mariner recently turned down a year & half deal with the St George Illawarra Dragons. He represented Toa Samoa last weekend & has been rewarded with a demotion to reserve grade.
___
Five eighth Nu Brown was promised he would remain in first grade. His specialist has cleared him for a return however, Pay insists his foot has not recovered - just so he can play Jack Cogger without consequences or look like he is not fulfilling his promises.
___
I'm also hearing Rhyse Martin could be pulled before kick off for Adam Elliot, but again - Dean Pay has not communicated this to the individual players.
___
Dean Pay admitted to his playing group yesterday at training that his job is under immense pressure.
___
Later, he pulled several players into a room individually & essentially asked them for any ideas to bring the best out of his side.
___
Pay basically admitted he is lost for answers. That compiled with poor communication & broken promises has lose him the respect of his team.
___
At this stage, it is very likely he is sacked or forced to resign before the 2019 season comes to a close.
___
What are your thoughts on this & who is the man to lead the Doggies moving forward?
A lot of this is true. Dean Pay has lost lots of players support and you would be surprised who want him out. Obviously tolman and Jackson still respect him.

Im expecting Dean Pay to be sacked real soon.
That will solve one problem. Who they replace him with is a big question mark. The board don't want to replace shit with shit, so lets hope they find someone suitable for the job. Rumours were Flanagan but he won't be available till 2021.

I'd go for Andrew Griffin with Michael Hagan as Assistant Coach.
