Dean Pay must be salivating at the thought of all the good country boy second rowers and props he can get from this agreement.

Problem with these sort of agreements is we are always "2nd or 3rd" in line. So we end up getting to pick at the rotten carcass whilst teams like Raiders, Broncos get the best coming out of such schools.

Happens with our Qld arrangements.

At least the club is putting processes in place to make sure we get a good shot at talent and the current situation is avoided in future years.

Not really the kids in the groups actually have go through us first. Of they go elsewhere and try out and if they make they would have to get clearance from us NSWRL and $5000 fee or the registration won't be allowed.

How's this work then?

"WESTS TIGERS SCORE BACKLINE SIGNING
The Tigers have signed one of the best outside back prospects in Queensland from the Bulldogs.
Ryan Garner - younger brother of Luke and a member of the Queensland Emerging Origin under-18s squad last year - has been living on the Gold Coast on scholarship with the Doggies.
But he decided to join up with big brother this week and the tall goal-kicking wing/centre will move to Sydney next year.
Garner was a member of the Palm Beach Currumbin team that won the GIO Cup last year."

My guess is all these partnerships help in indentifying talents but keeping them is still a dogfight.

The sacking of warren mcdonnell probably was the reason we lost ryan garner. Considering his brother is with tigers, id say he was recruited by warren.

We have the 5/8 from the sane school. Lets hope we dont lose him.

May be its a case of those kids, like david fifita and tanah boyd, are already part of junior system for clubs like broncos. They are sent to schools, like keebra park, that is suitable for their development while still at school age. So they are not available to be recruited in the first place. Not a case of we have 2nd or 3rd pick.

I don't know the rules in QLD. NSWRL enforce the rules even though there is downside to it as well. There have been a lot of kids overlook for the align teams and try out with other team made the cut and was then block for playing.

The most recent example are kids in Newcastle catchment areas they have had a gun side. Kids being passed up by Newcastle so the kids have gone to North Sydney made Harold matt's then being block without making the payment.
