Greg Inglis started on the wing, then centre, then 5/8, then Fb then back to centre. Arguably the best footy player I have ever seen in the modern game next to Thurston and Smith... Latrell is right up that ally.

Ponga, Munster and Latrell. Pick one?

Ponga umm and ahhs about his future in the game...

Munster aint leaving Melbourne.

Only thing stopping Latrell Is Politis.

We have a shot....
Love it

This is complete bs. I’m not going to fall for this or read anything into it. If it’s come from James Hooper then you know he’s made it up
Is it though? We all denied his Klemmer scoop

Like he’d come here after the pieman ignored him. He’s already spoke about how much he likes beating us.

However, if we are tabling an offer, I’d consider offering $4m for five years, but with a $200k per year bonus if he meets certain criteria each year (minimum number of tries, assists, tackles etc). Try to ensure he stays interested.

Very very interesting.....
Yeh, it’s interesting because this lot won’t release a big name in the media unless it’s a ploy to sign someone else. I reckon bullshit article leaked by our board. It’s a strategic move for sure.

What makes you so sure Munster wouldnt leave Melbourne?

If Politis wants to keep Mitchell he will.

Talking about Inglis, when did he start earning the big bucks? The second time around he re-signed with the Rabbits.

Mitchell wouldnt be a premiership winner if he didnt have Tedesco, Cronk & Keary.

You do not build your team around a $1m centre and Mitchell is an out and out left centre.

Jack Bird was just like Mitchell, on fire at Cronulla winning a premiership, and than the Broncos jumped the gun, and how has that panned out for them at $1m a year?

This is not a 3 or 4 year deal, but 10.

10 years is 260 NRL games. He wont play 200 games in those 10 years.

SMH reporting 5 million over 5 years... Better than 10 years

You're actually comparing bird to latrell?

No just no.

Latrell is worth every cent the kid is still far from fulfilling his potential

Clearly it's a lot of stabbing in the dark, this is on Brisbane Times right now,

Bulldogs preparing $5m, five-year offer for Latrell Mitchell

The Bulldogs are hatching an audacious $5 million play for Latrell Mitchell that would make the dumped Blues star one of the highest-paid players in NRL history.

An intermediary acting for the Bulldogs secretly met with Mitchell’s father, Matt, to discuss the prospect of the young Roosters superstar leaving for Belmore on a $1 million-per-annum deal over five years. While no offer has yet been tabled, it is an indication of the sort of salary the Roosters star can command if he puts himself on the open market.

Mitchell is contracted to the Roosters until the end of 2020, but rival clubs can begin tabling official offers from November 1. The Bulldogs snuck under everyone’s guard when they poached Kiwis captain Dallin Watene-Zelezniak from Penrith and now have their sights set on an even bigger coup.

A $5 million payday would make the 22-year-old one of the game’s highest-paid stars. He would join a select few able to command a long-term, seven-figure annual payday that includes Daly Cherry-Evans, Ben Hunt, Jason Taumalolo, Sam Burgess and Anthony Milford.

News of Canterbury’s interest, just days after Mitchell scored two tries against his potential future suitor, adds another layer of complexity in the Roosters’ bid to retain him on an upgraded and extended deal.

'Roosters pay his bills, not NSW': Snubbed Mitchell could re-assess Origin future

The Herald revealed in May that under his existing contract, Mitchell is earning only about $450,000 for the current season. While that figures rises by about $100,000 for the following year, it is about half of what Canterbury and other clubs are prepared to pay him.

The discrepancy is one of the reasons Mitchell split with long-time manager Steve Deacon and recently joined rival agent Wayde Rushton. It is understood Mitchell has been made aware of the Bulldogs’ interest and it may be one of several factors contributing to a dip in form. There have been other setbacks, such as the death of family members in recent weeks and the charging of his brother Lionel for assault stemming from an incident in April.

It’s unclear where the Bulldogs view the long-term positional future of Mitchell, who can play fullback, centre or in the halves. However, the blue and whites feel he is the marquee recruit they can build their club around to help them climb the ladder, as well as attracting other big-names to Belmore.

Mitchell was the hottest player in rugby league last month after producing a masterclass performance against Wests Tigers. The Taree product hasn’t been able to maintain that level, although his ommission from Brad Fittler’s team for Origin II remains a shock.

The fact the Bulldogs are in a position to even contemplate making such a long and lucrative offer shows how quickly their salary cap position has changed. The Family Club appeared hamstrung on the recruitment front for several years, but a mass exodus of big-money players - including James Graham, Josh Reynolds, Moses Mbye, Aaron Woods and David Klemmer - has left them in a position to target big names from November 1.

While the Roosters are keen to keep Mitchell, they won’t be able to compete in a bidding war for his services given the number of internationals already on their books.

THE RICH LIST … BIG-MONEY CONTRACTS IN THE NRL

Jason Taumalolo - $10 million over 10 years
Daly Cherry-Evans - $10 million over eight years
Ben Hunt - $6 million over five years
Sam Burgess - $1 million per season until 2023
Anthony Milford - $4 million over four years

I have a friend who knows Latrell’s parents and when they asked about the bulldogs offer, Latrell’s father said he cannot speak about it.

They are full on roosters fans and she believes the bulldogs have offered.

Latrell Mitchell is not worth that cash.

It takes a team to win the premiership, not a $1m centre.

Have a look back since the "modern era" of rugby league and enlighten me a premiership centre which was the highest paid at his club and the league?
