Not everyone... lol

He was a touch better last year but if he is low on confidence go find it in reserves. OR a real coach should be a good man manager and help players mentally, which pay obviously does not know how to do.
I don’t disagree with that. He’s seriously out of form.

Players are expected to sign up to a code of conduct, which is upheld by the coaching staff and the players leadership group. That code includes a whole raft of big and small things like timeliness, missing training, dodging recovery, leaving their gear behind, missing the team bus, ducking their specialised training, not meeting the weight and fitness targets that are established in pre season etc etc. Stuff that may seem trivial to outsiders but it's considered important enough to the team to have mandated punishment, which can range from extra laps after training to being dropped for repeat offences. Most teams keep it amongst themselves, it rarely gets out into the media for obvious reasons. Bellamy is notorious for his ultra strict regimen, it's take no prisoners with him and the players buy into it or they go elsewhere.

Personally I applaud that approach, which has a long Bulldogs history even back to Kevin Ryan's time where he dealt out not exactly PC discipline.

Discipline starts from day one whether it’s in a family situation at work or in a team. Where there is a level of conduct to be met it doesn’t matter if your the youngest, highest paid or best in the team it non negotiable. What’s the point of setting a standard otherwise

What some fail to recognise is that players get demoted for reasons other than their personal game form. The coaching staff and the players' leadership group both have the power to institute disciplinary actions against a player for any number of breaches of their codes of conduct. These are not often made public, so it's ever so easy for us to unknowingly question why a player was demoted when their playing form seems to not warrant it. Those questioning why X player gets picked over Y player should look beyond the simplistic "he's playing better" reasoning and consider that it may well be due to disciplinary actions. Not necessarily by the coaching staff, either.

So Elliott is dogging on his team mates...Getting them dropped, the teachers pet, pays eyes and ears...no wonder the place is fucked

ELLIOTT MUST GO!

His reserve grade standard performances must go.

Knowing Dud Hasler he probably backended him on big money as well.

Like many it's got me wondering how this bloke gets picked every week despite being bog average... and it got me thinking.

We know Pay was at Mad Monday.

I'm wondering if perhaps Pay was involved in egging Adam on, and hence feels partially responsible for the whole thing.

Hence picking Adam all the time.

Thoughts?
Elliot and Montoya are now white koalas both were the face of mad Monday celebrations

Montoya May have been throwing up after gagging on Pay

My theory on why Elliot is one of the first picked is that he tries his heart out both on the field and at training, even though he only has the talent to be a fringe CC player at best.
I believe that pay is hoping that Elliot sets the example to the other players around him. However I think that in spite of how hard he tries it is not working, and it may have the opposite affect, because if his team mates have the same opinion of him as most of us it would be depressing for them.
Pay should know that to motivate a team on the field you need a player to do something great like making a break or putting on a big shot.
With Jackson trying hard but burnt out and badly in need of a break from football, Napa playing like a cream puff since arriving at the club, Foran not far from the next long term injury, we are up the creek without a paddle and in a leaky boat.

The game has moved on from Plodders it’s all about explosive forwards

We have two genuine plodders in Elliott and Tolman

JJ is fast becoming one too now

Pay is out of his depth as a coach plain and simple

Add Kieran Foran and William Hopoate to that list of team plodders as well

Further highlights the folly of back ended contracts. These guys on huge money this year and next and are not hungry....might see a lift in their last year tho.

I remember at pre season training JJ was raving about Sue's training efforts. Do that and your set at the Dogs. Our only criteria for leadership.

We have a bunch of professional football trainers as opposed to professional players. Montoya, Elliott, JMK, Tolman even Jackson has fallen into this group now. It’s all well and good training hard but means nothing when they don’t perform on the field.
