Please, it's not even a serious discussion, it's TK for crying out loud, we all think we can solve the worlds problems on here lol.

The thing I find funny on TK is you don't know if you're discussing something with a 90 year old fart or an 8 year old kid for all we know. G'teed conversations would be different if they were made face to face.
True that....I'm actually a 9 year old trapped in a 90 year old's body....lol

This really shows the lack of major venues Sydney really has.

What venues are you talking about here. Venues for footy, venues for political debates, or venues to have face to face conversations at?

Not mine, I'm more than willing to express my humble opinion to anyone anytime, face to face or otherwise. I treat everyone with equal respect.
Flip me sideways...Man you are the King of Mis-interpreting posts, hence my claim that face to face discussions are different.
Behind the keyboard you can't see peoples face expressions, voice tone. As well as their age. I talk to my 6 year old son differently to the way I talk to my wife, my son's vocabulary isn't as advanced as my wife's.
Heaven help us if we said something that offended someone because we forgot to add an "lol" or an emoji at the end of the sentence.
Get the picture or do I need to face time you?
I think you also misinterpreted what I posted, let me have another go. When posting I treat everyone with equal respect, when meeting face to face or on the telephone I also treat everyone with equal respect. That's not the same as using the same language while talking to a 6 year and to a 60 year old. The respect is the same, but the language will most likely differ depending on the circumstances.

That is not what I said at all....not even remotely close..... and poor guys? India and China's economies are both among the world's strongest and fastest growing....lol
Seriously, nice try, but the facts say otherwise, for example according to the World Bank figures around 200 million people in India still lack access to electricity.
The socialist agenda is pretty simple, make electricity so expensive that an equivalent % of us can't afford electricity.

I can do this all day if you like, but can we resume normal programs now, Go Dogs

Yes, India has shocking problems when it comes to poverty, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have a strong or rapidly growing economy.....a good "socialist agenda" as you call it, may actually go a ways towards addressing that imbalance.

Socialism is generally about making things MORE affordable. You're not firing on all cylinders there, Twin Turbo.

What’s wrong with a coalition government? Labor we’re going to put their hands in my pocket with all their dumb taxes. They were going to discourage investors in buying property and in turn it would have a reverse effect on property prices. Property prices which I borrowed a lot of money for and eroding all the equity I had leaving me with jack shit after 25 years of hard work. How’s that for rewarding the hard workers of this country! Yes, it would of helped first home buyers get into the market which is a good thing but at who’s expense? At the expense of someone who’s busted their arse for many years. Have you seen Shorten running on the news, he runs like a duck, thank goodness we don’t have a prime minister who runs like a duck. How embarrassing
Hate labour and liberals equally as much. But what your saying about investment properties is absolut bullshit and the reason the Australian dream is fucked mate. Renting is pretty well the cost of paying off a homeloan now and so dear that most young ppl can't even afford to move out of home let alone get a home loan. Plenty of other places to invest money

Not true, centrist socialism is about making all things equal for everyone, under the same control, in this case the United Nations. This can lead to higher or lower costs, which is irrelevant to a socialist just as long as it is the same cost for everyone.
From the Britannica "On the centralist side are socialists who want to invest public control of property in some central authority".

Screw Queensland.... we have to endure another four years of coalition government thanks to those jerks :p

They should take it rural. Play it on a cow paddock in Coonabarabran
Actually they shoul be rewarded then for helping the coalition gain office what makes you think we all like labior?
But honestly one should keep political opinion to themselves and their mates
We all have our reasons but let's talk football

Yes, but you don't then turn around and introduce these extra taxes to bring values down, this hurts the person who owns property and paid big bucks for it. Mate when peoples equity gets eroded away, spending decreases, and if speading decreases, business shut down and the economy gets screwed. You try and find a solution that helps first home buyers without affecting those who have worked hard all their lives and built up their wealth through property. The Robin hood approach is what is bullshit. Steal from the rich and give to the poor.

Generally..... There are many different forms of socialism, but I think you're drawing a very long bow by insinuating some centralised UN conspiracy to jack up power prices..... Power prices are already well on the way to becoming unaffordable thanks to privatisation, but there's no sound evidence whatsoever to back up your claim....it's firmly in the realm of conspiracy theory. There IS pretty compelling evidence to suggest climate change is posing a severe threat to the future survival of our species and something should be done about it.

Lol you can stop any time you like.....just stop replying if you don't wish to continue the discussion.

I didn't suggest that the UN were conspiratorially jacking up power prices, it may well be side effect but it isn't their base objective. Plainly what they are doing is attempting to equalise the economies, suppress those of the 1st Work Countries whilst allowing the 2nd and 3rd World Countries to continue their growth unabated. If their concern was truly climate change abatement then they would be demanding (enticing, persuading, bullying, coercing, whatever you want to call it) all economies to reduce their emissions by the same %. To selectively do otherwise, as they are, is nothing more than social engineering, a basic socialist manifesto.

Anyone truly concerned about climate change would be demanding that all countries reduce their emissions by 25%, 40%, 50% or even 100%, no exceptions. Selectively choosing who is allowed to increase their's by 25%, 40%, 50% or even 100% whilst at the exact same time requiring others to reduce their's has only one true objective, changing the economic landscape.

The unaffordable electricity problems locally are direct and indirect results of subsidies paid to prop up unreliable electricity generation, but that's a whole new, very large, can of worms, best left for another thread derailment. Go Dogs

*Regardless of problems with poverty in India and China, both nations have two of the strongest and fastest growing economies in the world. Explain to me where the "socialist" interest lies in bolstering the economies of two nations which already have economies that are much, much stronger than most? The USA has a lot of people living below the poverty line too.....does that reality make the USA a second or third world country?

The UN is in no position to demand or bully countries that are rich and powerful enough to throw global trade into chaos. In fact, it's not bullying anyone...It's hackneyed nonsense such as this which will seal our fate as a species - everybody wanting to point fingers rather than to focus on what they can control and look after their own backyard.

Football is boring, tbh.....the comp is corrupt and our team is dismal. The political discussions and the banter are the only things that keep me coming back to this joint.
