As perspective Ash Taylor and Ben Hunt are getting that money so when you look at it that way probably a bargain if he can keep himself happy. We need a franchise player and he is so.........
So is Foran...

That's a smart move by the club, a word I would never have associated with the way our club has been run! Well done....over to you Mr Politis!
Has the club gone public with that offer? Because if they have, surely the Roosters can't say they have resigned him for $600k or he stayed for less money.... hang on, the NRL is in charge! Ohhhhhhhh well, at least we tried!

If this is true id say the clubs strategy will be is that even though its 2021 if we land a big fish for 2021 it will make us all of a sudden attractive to other players before then

The same way people said Inglis couldn't play fullback? Latrell has already shown as much, probably more talent than Inglis at the same age. And he along with Slater were the two best backs for a decade plus.

We're desperate for talent and a star and we make a play for maybe the biggest young star and you're not interested? $1 million a year is nothing for Latrell when Foran, Hunt, DCE, Taumalolo, RTS, Cronk, Smith,Teddy and others would be on the same or more.

You pay for quality and Latrell is a special talent the likes of which don't come around very often. He's well worth the investment.
Lol no, not even close.

Latrells best position is without a doubt centre, it's simply no contest. Look at the mentality of him, look at his workrate, no fucking way he gets the job done at 6 or 1. Can you see him lugging his frame around at fullback all game and having anywhere near the same explosiveness he does at centre? No chance. Can you see him moving in at 6 and putting in like Munster? No chance.

Latrell is comparable to a poacher in football, he might have minimal touches and involvement but when the opportunities arise he will take them. Bloke deadset has 6 runs all game at times and doesn't take a single run form his own end, yet from those 6 runs atleast half of them result in try scoring plays whether it be from him scoring or setting up someone else.

I have no interest in us signing him on mega bucks and trying to manufacture him into something he once previously failed at and was moved away from, if he's coming then he better be coming to play centre.

He will at fullback but not at 6.
No way, it would be like Klopp yelling at Sturridge to press minutes after coming on all over again. He can't and won't lug that frame of his around enough.

You don't think he can improve and get fitter and work on his game? Or train all offseason and adapt once becoming fullback full time?

He's 21. Who has more potential than him? Who the hell do we have on our team that we can turn down a talent like him for less than what Taylor, Hunt and Foran are on and a bit more than what Mitch Moses got?

Obviously he's not the finished product yet and needs to be more consistent but to suggest he can't play fullback is insane. He's played 10 or so games at fullback already and had some great games. He's not just a poacher, he has skill, strength like no other back and the best fend in the comp.

People said the exact same things about Inglis and were proven wrong. They'll be proven wrong again with Mitchell.

The only thing holding Mitchell back is himself and that's the biggest question mark on him. He can be anything but plenty before him could have been aswell. That's the key.

This might have some legs:

1. MasterP is one of the more reliable posters

2. Bulldogs signed Latrell’s brother, Shaquai, earlier this year (or last year, I’m not sure). It could be to help lure him over, on top of the large contract.

3. A few other posters over the last week have said that the club is going after a ‘big fish’. Latrell could be that big fish.

If true, it’s a great move by the club. Signing Latrell would help in attracting better players to the club.

Now all we need is a coach who knows what he’s doing.
