News out of Belmore is they offered Latrell Mitchell $1M/yr for 10yrs (a Jason Taumalolo like deal) and that’s what’s rattled him. Starting from year after next.
Uncle Nick isn’t happy and doesn’t want to lose him but they have issues with 10yr contract.

1 mill a year in 5 years time may not be as big a sum as it seems right now. With salary cap rises in the future this could be a very smart deal. Let’s be honest it would take a lot to get him out of the roosters but it’s definately the type of deal to get him thinking. Exactly what we need

These contracts normally come with a percentage increase of the salary cap...so if he's on a million and the cap rises by 10 per cent so does his contract.. that's how deals are done today based on some player mangers I know.

Thats the ratchet clause it would obviously be dependent on if thats there or not

Taumalolo's ten year deal is a bargain. If Latrell's didn't have a ratchet clause then it would end up being a bargain too.

He's only 21 and once he's moved to fullback or 5/8th permanently where he can have more impact on the game, he'll dominate.

Not at centre he's not. But imagine the impact he'd have at fullback? He's filled in there numerous times and would go to another level once he made the switch. Even at 5/8th, eventually you'd see a more complete player. There's not much he can't do and he'll be a top five player for the next ten years.
