Eels club captain Tim Mannah is reportedly set to leave the club effective immediately to sign with the Wests Tigers for the rest of 2019.
The potential move would bring to a close an 11 year career at Parramatta for one of the club’s favourite sons.
The Daily Telegraph revealed negotiations between Mannah, the Eels and the Tigers started late on Sunday.
The 31-year-old veteran of 233 first grade games for the Eels has played four Origins for NSW back in 2010-11 and four Tests for Lebanon in 2017.
Negotiations are expected to conclude on Tuesday when the deal will be formally announced by the Wests Tigers.
It remains to be seen where Mannah will feature in Michael Maguire’s side.
Maguire already has out-of-favour forwards Russell Packer and Elijah Taylor on his books.
James Hooper revealed that the Tigers were attempting to unofficially shop some of the biggest names on their roster who are on long-term contracts.
Josh Reynolds, Russell Packer, Elijah Taylor, Chris McQueen and even Ben Matulino and Moses Mbye have all been mentioned at rival clubs.
