I'm at work now so can check it again but I read something this morning that apparently the Dogs have told Lewis he's welcome to look elsewhere?? This was on FB so grain of salt offcourse but from the comments I was reading (if true) this board might rue the day for 2 reasons. A) He's good and B) they are losing the fanbase very quickly.
Yes it is false not at all true. So many rumours about players not talking to Pay false also I have been told today.

Some people out here are thinking the kid is Wally Lewis,
In my opinion he has a good attitude and good defence but lacks speed and has an average kicking and running game,
Definitely he does not have the credentials to be a halfback at least for now
If he wants to play 5/8 he needs to work on his general game
If he wants to play lock he needs to bulk up
If he want to play centre he needs To sharpen up
If Lewis can't recognise and fix the flaws in his game he won't get nowhere at this or any other club
BUT...I am sick of seeing average players holding the club for ransom
Really...The choice is his !
My advice....get a real manager

Lachlan Lewis has not been told by the club he is free to look elsewhere. Today I contacted a high level contact I had to clarify this rumour amongst a few other things happening at the club. The rumour is false. The club sees Lachlan as a young player with a future at the club. In reference to Pay not talking to Lewis this is false also quite the opposite
Thank god thanks for the info

Half of that is correct.

SOME at the club want Lewis to remain a one club player, those close to the board like him and view him as a long term player. Pay is ignoring that and doesn't seem as convinced. It's one of many points of contention that are causing friction between coach and players/board.

Pay is talking with the players, but NOT communicating with them.

"Hi how are you today" - will get a reply.
"I need help with ABC" - will not.
"Can you tell me why I was dropped" - may not always get a reply.

Clouding the waters even more is way too many people having input into player recruitment/selection and with ideas on how things should/shouldn't be done. Too many fingers in the pie and some people need to be told to take a step back and do their job and nothing beyond that.

It's at a point where the straw has almost broken the camels back, and if nothing changes I forsee people walking.

It’s a pity if he has , not to worry if he has his undoing not mine. All good. Can only say what I was told. Appreciate your comment.

How has Lewis been treated disrespectfully? He was in bad form and got dropped. That's life, not disrespect.
He 100% needed a spell in reserves, bloke has made about a million errors and was extremely wasteful with the ball, dogs fans are embarrassing hyping him up as the next superstar of the club lol. Hopefully he bounces back this weekend and worked on the things he needed to.

Straight 18 you played under Pay at Dubbo? and earlier posts you were very hostile with people who were critisizing the appointment of Pay and you backed him to the hilt I recall. You certainly have done a 180 on that.

I admit I also thought it was a good idea. Dean turned league around in our Qld town when he coached here and the team won the premiership after being nobodies for some time. He enlivened the whole vibe for our town back to league. Had a pub with Mal Meninga etc and the place was pumping.

We were wrong hey. NRL first grade coaching too big a step up for Dean..bloody hard with our poor roster but it probably makes it all the more important for him to recognise what talent we do have and use it the right way.

We can't have players out of position, already limited ability players switched to their unfavoured side, split partnerships, no specialist mentor coaching for inexperienced new players, favs allowed to coast along while singling out others to be unnecessarily publicly dropped for airy fairy flimsy reasons by comparison.

I don't think there is one single week where Dean has done that. The fact that he hasn't tried the obvious team selections, has now caused him to lose respect.

I call "Bullshit" Pay has played him out of position from day1. Foran should be halfback and Lewis to 5/8. You can't say for certain he will or won't become a star, only time and the right coach will decide that. But I will run to Kogarah from belmore backwards and in the nuddy if his form was worse than Elliot, Jackson, Hoppa, Lichaa, Sue etc and yet he gets dropped to reggys. Don't get me wrong as I think a wake up call can change a players focus but Pay is the Homer Simpson of coaching, he has an important job but is totally clueless.

I can say for certain, i've seen him play for years. He has a non existent running game so why is he a 6? Game management is below average, ball playing also below average. There is absolutely no reason to have him rated so highly when he doesn't excel in any area of halves play, Pay or no Pay.

Opinions are like bums, we all have one. He's 22 so not so sure about the "years " of watching him and some players mature or develop into first graders quicker than others. He is no Wally L, nobody is but he has got plenty to work with (in my opinion..) and if someone like a Thurston or Johns spent some time working with him, he could have a pretty solid 1st grade career.

He doesn't have the skillset, why is he suddenly going to develop it at NRL level? He is dead average and has few things going for him. He isn't going to magically learn these things he didn't learn in 22 years.

I agree with you 100%. Many have opinions where he should play i dont care where he plays because he gives all to his team. He makes mistakes but who is perfect. Sure he has things to work on but his young and will only get better.

Has a kicking game, brave defender, has pace, can pass left or right, is a competitor, believes he is good enough and most of all still has a contract to play for the dogs (for the moment..) and is probably on crap money... I've seen plenty of his football, FG and lower grades and I reckon he is continually improving but needs development and guidance like any other 1st grader. He may not be your cup of tea but I'm sick of seeing this club let players go to other clubs for the wrong reasons.
