The energy in 1kg of hydrogen is about the same as 3kg of petrol so an explosion would be about 3 times a large, but vessels could be 3 times smaller.

Once the pressurised vessel is punctured the liquid will escape through the puncture as an explosive gas. All the conditions around hydrogen are similar to LNG.
Storing it as Ammonia is even more dangerous if released accidentally.
