People forget he missed a good part of last season and is still trying to find form in a side that's been coughing and spluttering all year. Add to this another knee injury now.

He's not confident in his body at the moment. That's what two knee injuries in short succession and bugger all game play does.

RFM has a nice offload and the ability to break a game open like CHN did last night. Two players on either side of the field with that ability is priceless. Drop Jackson up the middle and you have the makings of a very capable team.

RFM thinks too much and overplays. He needs to be patient and hard straight running and let the ball skills complement the momentum. He kills his momentum with his style of play - needs to be coached out of that bad habit before it kills his career.

RFM has plenty to offer and will find his stride again before too long. As Mr. I stated above me he's had a rough 9 months or so with injuries which hasn't helped. At his best - he's one of our most dangerous ball carriers.

Parting with the likes of Sue, Brown, Tualau, Olive etc, as well as the cap space we already have, should provide more than enough to make plays at the types of player we need.

Was just sitting here having a cuppa thinking about this topic and i turn the computer on and there it is lol
Was gonna ask everyone was martin playing himself into a permanent stay ?
If so who will go. And to me rfm defence for me has never been up to scratch. He needs to play an adam blair style prop roll when blair was at the broncos.
Martin is a smarter foot baller he has proven that.
Great minds think alike uce

Agree

First thought he should have is run straight with late footwork

Probably not going to be a popular thread but I would seriously consider cut and running on him and using that money to buy an outside back or dare I say a specialist hooker that can pass, run and kick!

RFM hasn’t progressed if anything has regressed and to be honest on the whole I have been disappointed with his output taking into account his boundless potential which hasn’t been truly realised under Des or Pay.

He’s had ample opportunities to stake a claim both last season before injury and this season but has not grabbed it with two hands

CHN did last night what I have been waiting for RFM to do since he arrived here!

He’s a trade that most clubs would go for so maybe a straight swap to strengthen our areas of weakness?

Backrow is covered with JJ, CHN, Martin and Elliott and C Smith

Sorry uce time to go.....
Agree bro. He's overrated as fuck here and CHW is just a better version of him.

He was our best forward until he got injured last season and was literally the only spark, even made his Kiwi debut. His recent injuries have been a bit of a hurdle.

I think u are being optimistic about getting a good hooker for rfm money. And who is available?. Sharks are the only club I know of that have 2 equally good hookers, the Braileys. Who else has a surplus of good hookers? And the Braileys are juniors too. We may have a hooker solution within the club already anyway. Even if Lichaa left tomorrow we wouldnt be short of players who can play hooker.

The main issue we have, with Foran out, is the L plates on everyone in the spine. The side needs experience more than anything and I think can grow into being a decent team. If Foran does not play much longer for us I'd like his money to go on a equally good half. All the spine will progress better with at least 1 experienced player in it, to guide them and take the pressure off.

Neither Lewis or Cogger are bad players and will both probably end up great players, but right now they are the least experienced halves combo in the league. The bus is being driven by kids for now

We are going to need to be patient.

I think many on here heaped too much on RFM. I don’t mind some things in his game but I doubt he will play first grade again

I wouldn’t write RFM off just yet. He just needs game time to gain confidence and fitness. He has way more upside than Elliott and it’s a shame how quick people forget how good he can be. He just needs to shine in NSW Cup and force Pay to pick him. Might be behind To’Omaga though after today’s game
