This might not be a BULLDOGS discussion but this is very related to us at this particular moment in time.

Hear me out please this is very important.

If the salary cap is meant to keep the NRL competition even? Then why do we see a number of teams have higher caliber players across the park such as the OBVIOUS ROOSTERS and some teams like the Bulldogs have in reality maybe 2 to 3 players that "might" make it into another first grade team and also considering we hear that the Bulldogs have no money to spend on players.

This needs in my opinion an equivalent to a royal commission.

There need to be a full investigation on

1) the books for every team for the last 7 years

2) how to prevent a situation like the BULLDOGS are in now as its not really a competitive game when they are playing right now. Which is an embarrassing look for the NRL

3) how to put a sytem in place where every team has equal share of same calibre of players.

And what ever else you want to add.

WE ALSO NEED TO STOP BLAMING PAY AND MAKING YOUR SELF FEEL BETTER THAT YOU HAVE THE REASON WHY WE ATE NOT WINNING.

NO COACH COULD REALLY DO MORE WITH THIS TEAM. PAY IS ACTUALLY SHOWN SOME BRAINS OF LATE.

You can see some game plans in place.
The players have shown improvement in there resilience and not giving up mentally.

Imagine pay was coaching the roosters?

Roosters think they are a good team and Robinson thinks he is a good coach.

That is not true.
He has bought this roosters team.
Over last 3 years they have bought

KEARY
TADESCO
CRONK

WHICH is the reason why they WON not because of THE COACH

If we was a good coach then he would he able to have won it without buying those players.

All worth 1 million each on ability and experience

It's our poor recruitment and retention. Roosters are very good at recruiting and managing their roster. They have let go of Pearce, Jennings, Fergusson, Maloney, Napa, Watson, Evans, Moa, etc

We had countless opportunities to buy a marquee player but decided to recruit useless duds like Woods and backend contracts.

Majority of that Roosters team that played last night were all young kids that came through the grades.... Cleal and Hasler didn't rate Mitchell.

All payments salary and third party need to go through nrl and then to players
An audit on players getting payments from elsewhere is illegal
It really is simple
Problem is the powers that be (roosters, politis, Bronx etc) don’t want and can’t have this system

The Roosters are run like a professional club, thats the difference between them and us.

They brought Latrell, Manu, Cordner, Friend, Radley, Aubusson and Tupou through their ranks.
They scouted and found gems in JWH, Taukeiaho and Tetevano who had played about 30 games between them.
They pounced on the opportunity to sign Keary when he was on the outer at the Rabbits.
They weren't blinded by loyalty when it came to Pearce, Maloney, Napa, Jennings and Fergo.
They added the icing on the cake with Tedesco and Cronk.

I wish our club was run like theirs.

Other clubs are able to offload unwanted players and replace them with better players. We keep getting worse every year so our ladder position is no surprise. Things went downhill for the club when we bought Tony Williams and it’s been a crapshoot ever since

I still think they're cheating...
They have a knack for only letting go rep players as they start to decline replacing them with young rep players that could demand 1mil plus anywhere else.

Bud we have the poorest roster in the nrl. Its no other ***** or clubs fault but ours. I dont think we have seen the end of it yet. The roosters dont make us buy dud reserve graders and hang onto them forever. Yez say there cheating cause they let go of worse players for better ones. Thats just better recruitment and management. Its not the roosters fault they get sensational players that we tell are not good enough cause we have holland and elliot. Some **** shoot me please.

Rorters or not , we have not been able to recruit well for a very long time.. not just that though, even if we go for or try and sign a big name or quality player etc they turn us down or don’t want to come over to the doggs..!!

Trying to attract or Interest established talent is not happening and it’s a real killer. SUX!!!!!

It's a lot easier when you have a board full of billionaires, and an organization that allows the roosters run riot.... one example is when they had Peter O'Sullivan employed and had to let him go due to an NRL investigation over illegal 3rd party contracts.

Yes our recruiting has been shit but no one should defend the roosters for cheating the cap!

The idea is not to pay the players big money, but rather employ their spouse/family in key positions inside directors companies, with large salaries, which just happen to compliment the lower wage of the player.

They can't investigate it because what they will find may destroy the code forever! How many premierships would be null and void in the last decade atleast….probably 7 of 10?

The formula is pretty simple isn't it, with the exception of Parra :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:, if you cheat the cap your going to be successful even after you get found out.... well done NRL, their next slogan should be "cheating, it's part of the game"

He is a good coach no doubt. People on here were stating he won’t get a job again due to his tenure here. He is doing well for what he has at manly and I bet we wouldn’t be last if he was here.
Our only issue was giving him way too much power in retention and recruitment.

No club signs the calibre of NRL star players that the roosters do. Crighton Cronk Tedesco Fwrguson SBW Jennings Maloney Carney, JWH (when a gun rookie at Manly), Myles Mason Omeley Anasta Wing Fitzgibbon (when a gun at St George).. tge list over the past 20 years is never ending

They also scout the best young kids going around even though they have a small local junior pool

Look at their spine players over about 20years:
Halves
Since the late 90s theyve usually had the NSW or QLD halves .. Fittler Lam Wing Anasta Finch Pearce Carney Maloney Cronk (& now premiership winner half Keary)

At Fullback theyve had 3 of the best since 2001
Minichiello
RTS
Tedesco

In the past 20 years who has stuck out in our halves? Sherwin for sure. we let go of JT, and Roosters took Anasta

Fullback - apart from General we had Barba and his magical form for 1 year..

We havent assembled a great roster for a long time.. the bestbroster we had around 2002 -2005 was mainly due to a great batch of lower graders coming through at around the same time.. that happenes once in a blue moon at any club.. need to recruit the best squad to maintain success..

In past 2 tears Roosters have also talked to Brooks, MMoses, and since late last year SJohnson, Klemmer & Taupau

They only look at signing very good players..

I concur 100% regarding the roosters, but a simple argument regarding the Bulldogs recruitment and players we've had since winning the comp 2004, if we had uncle Nick or that team was a roosters team, do you think we/they would have lost any of those players? The answer is no, because most of those players left for money and big money!

Anasta, asatasi, shrek, Mason, sbw, barba and so on, all left for money, our team was raided (mostly by the roosters, uncle Nick knew he couldn't allow us to have that much talent) and we couldn't hold on to any of them, Thurston would have being also retained. The facts are thre roosters are able to keep players because players are well payed and teams in the comp know you can't compete with the roosters.
