Interview on League Life and said that when he was deciding on a club Bulldogs and Storm tabled offers.

Bulldogs tabled him a 2 year offer worth MORE than Storm, but he was swayed to the Storm due to Bellamy and the big 3 they had playing for them.

Yet another way the Storm cheating have managed to prosper continually.

That’s why they’ve been successful for such a long time.!! able to attract players ,lucrative sounding deals,as well as the coach..!! That error will expire, and their luck will come to an end one day..and they will be a bottom table team (fingers crossed of corse) lol.

This is a very good point you have made regarding how they attracted players by cheating the cap and continue to benefit. And when they lose their advantage, Bellamy will find himself with a headache as his wonderful ideas suddenly are not getting executed anymore and the era should finally expire.

They're fucked once Cameron Smith, the best number 9 ever, retires. Everyone wanks on about Bellamy as if he can walk on water but it's all Smith.

They summed it up on I think NRL 360 or controversy corner. Can’t remember. Saying players would rather play for slightly less with a chance to win a premiership at a top club. Those at the bottom need to pay overs to attract the talent. It doesn’t mean they’re rorting the cap (although they may be) it means players want the best shot at being the best, playing with the best and winning a premiership. Once you’ve won a premiership you’re easily worth more than what a cellar dweller club would have paid you anyway.

We would have only had to release him due to Dessie and Dibs salary cap fuck ups anyway

They manipulate the cap to attract 3 or 4 marquee players to achieve initial success and then "underpay" the rest because they can still attract them. With Slater gone, Cronk gone and Smith almost (should be) gone they need to attract another 2 or 3 marquee players by paying overs. The fact is Melbourne rorted the cap, a proven fact in 2010, to attract/keep their marquee players and have reaped the benefits since then. That time is almost up, let's see how they go from next year on.

3 grand finals in the past 3 years vs not even making the finals....all things aside from his perspective I'd say he's made the right call

He probably wouldn't have turned into the player he is today had he joined us anyway...
That's a great point! I saw the interview too and I actually got the impression that he was thankful to us almost as the Bronc's and Cowboys didn't want him. Maybe in a couple of years he may be interested?

Didn't Jason Hetherington say that Canterbury didn't even bother to check him out ?

He should head the list of our possible recruitment targets in the coming years.

Unless AFL collapses overnight, its unlikely the NRL will stop looking after Melbourne unfortunately.
Its the grim reality for the rest of us that a team backed by News Limited in a AFL mad city NEEDS to continue dominating in the eyes of the NRL.

Yeah 3 year deal significantly less than the Bulldogs.

Hey let’s not let facts get in the way of a good conspiracy theory .. Lol
Actually he SPECIFICALLY mentioned in the interview that he chose Storm due to the Big 3, and Bellamy being there, despite Bulldogs offering more.

Hence the comments aren't a conspiracy, it's fact.
