Developing from within or identifying young talent from elsewhere is definitely the best way to rebuild.

Hopefully the club scouts extensively and are proactive by scouring the ESL, Rugby juniors and Pacific Nations for potential signings.

The Raiders have signed some great Englshmen in recent years and Bateman looks better than all of them. Our club had great success with Graham and even Connolly and Davies in shorter stints and should definitely look to sign more Englishmen. Especially since some of their better prospects are more NRL ready than ever these days and don't take as long to adjust...

Likewise, some Origin players like Chrichton, Ponga and Cronk have all come from Rugby backgrounds so the club should try and find the next John Timu!

Hence why the new format of the Juniors Discussion area, and keeping it away from an offshoot of Bulldogs Discussion.

The eventual idea will be we'll be able to track a players progress (and results) right back from when they started in H Matts/SG Ball, through to hopefully NRL.

That way there won't be so much hype as we'll know they are on the way.

Theres some blokes in Flegg, Ball and Matts who look very promising (mainly in the backs - Clayton, Averillo, Diego-Graham, Picken, Fuatimau). Zac Hetherington (hooker) and Brock Hammil (lock) in the forwards are ones to keep an eye on.
Ryan Gray is a big bloke for a hooker, and is very good in attack but needs a lot of work on his defence.

Every club, except for the Rorters, has green shoots coming through. It’s just a question if our shoots are greener than theirs...

Roosters have Central Coast Roosters, Rooseters Jnr League and Indigenous Academy. They certainly have juniors programs.
