Losing their touch without Wayne being there to sweep it under the rug.

Roberts knew exactly when and where the photos were taken......

James Roberts cleared over drunken photo controversy after worrying details emerge
James Roberts has been cleared of any wrongdoing after a drunken photo of the Brisbane centre did the rounds on social media.

Brisbane launched an investigation over an image that depicts the speedster being carried out of a private party.

The club confirmed the incident took place the night after Brisbane's devastating 24-25 defeat to the Dragons last Thursday, where Roberts picked up an Achilles injury.

Roberts issued an apology to the club and said he remained committed to work through his ongoing rehabilitation.

Broncos coach Anthony Seibold was disappointed that Roberts was excessively drinking a night after picking up an injury.

"I've spoken to Jimmy about avoiding situations where he isn't in control," Seibold said.

"He understands, and as a club we will continue to work through things with him."

The troubled centre was ruled out of the club's round four defeat to the Roosters and is being monitored on a week-to-week basis.

Broncos chief executive Paul White threw his support behind Roberts and confirmed no penalty would be imposed.

"James' journey to this point has been well-documented and he has made huge strides in recent years," White said.

"This is a small blip on on that journey, but we have all made poor decisions at times, and the club will continue to support James as we move forward."

Roberts has a long history with alcohol abuse, creating a self-imposed boose ban to stay out of trouble after he was kicked out by security at Brisbane's Normanby Hotel in 2016.

The NSW Origin player also checked into a Thailand rehab facility to deal with alcohol and drug abuse.

He was sacked from the South Sydney Rabbitohs and Penrith Panthers for repeated off-field incidents earlier in his career.

The Brisbane Broncos have spoken to James Roberts about a photograph of him circulating on social media.

Roberts informed the club that he had too many drinks on the Friday night after the loss to the Dragons, at a private party at a home in Brisbane.

Roberts apologised for drinking to excess and said he remained committed to work through his ongoing rehabilitation.

Seibold said Roberts’ behaviour was disappointing, particularly as he had aggravated an Achilles injury the day before.

But this incident was about poor decision making by James and the club would continue to work with him on that area of his life.

“I’ve spoken to Jimmy about avoiding situations where he isn’t in control,” said Seibold.

“He understands, and as a club we will continue to work through things with him.”

Brisbane Broncos CEO Paul White said the club would continue to support Roberts through his off-field rehabilitation. No penalty would be imposed by the club.

“James’ journey to this point has been well-documented and he has made huge strides in recent years,” said White.

“This is a small blip on on that journey, but we have all made poor decisions at times, and the club will continue to support James as we move forward.”

No complaints have been made to to the club in relation to Roberts’ behaviour, but the NRL Integrity Unit has been informed as a matter of course.

Bit hard to sweep it under the carpet when the NRL know about the photo.

Napa got fined for filming having sex & sharing it with mates (which you do know is illegal, if the other person knows nothing about (Revenge Porn) lucky he wasn't charged by the cops) & then someone down the line released it publicly.
Well there you go as i said it would swept under the carpet

Media up here are trying to look like they are being critical of the Gronkos for its handling of the matter - but not really.

I'm going to have some fun with my Broncos following colleagues today. I might ask if anyone got "James Robertsed" on the weekend...

Good chance for Broncos to nab Roberts some TPAs at like Forty Winks or Sleeping Giant over this photo.

Yep, he was drunk.

That's it.

I'm sure there was nothing harder involved.

Sure thing.

No, no I believe him.

Honestly.
