Maybe, but Meaney for example did not even show up and certainly should not be rewarded. Ogden and Martin yes. Cogger is ready to go but I'm backing Lewis to be better over the coming weeks

There are no answers within the club. Our top 30 is reserve grade standard at best. Atleast we don’t need to fear any clubs poaching any more of our players.

All our first graders have been taken already

I think we need about 1.5-2 million to fix this roster. Until we can start using that type of money I think you can write each and every season off.
Players off contract next year: Oates, Gutherson and Fainu. We're going to miss out on the first two. Fainu we should be going in for, but isn't going to save next season either. Also Martin needs to be resigned.

We have around $750k at the moment, so we can forward contract some from next year into this year, unless we find someone worth signing before 30 June (and they are looking heavily). Keeping in mind that we have to spend 95% of the salary cap in any one year.

Next year we have around $2m spare, rough maths.

As previously posted my view is that a $9.6m roster needs to turn over about every 3 years, that's ~$3.2m every year. Player contracts these days are 2/3/4 years, so a 3 year average for resigning, upgrading or adding new players is about right. We were way short of that this year, much better off next year and then the year after we have a more normal budget. That's the Des Effect, and the contracts, some heavily back ended that he saddled us with.

Ok so amongst all the issues we have I think the no. 9 spot is the worst and has been for ummm like 10 years. So in a hooker we ideally want, can pass, footy smarts, kicking game, some short term pace at the minimum, defence and creativity. We have none of that other than maybe defence in Lichaa. I'm done with any of our options at that position. All 3 blokes in Lichaa, JMK and Brown suck and would not make 1 single FG team anywhere I wonder if Lewis could be put there until we sign someone or unless he kills it there.

9. Lewis (Can tackle, kick, footy smarts, little bit of pace, creativity. His kick for Foran to score would be great from DH).

You don't blood new players into a side that has gone 0 from 2. It's not good from a morale prespective and if they aren't lifting in lower grades you are rewarding mediocre performances, which in turn will lead to more mediocre performances.

If you are a Canterbury Cup (NSW Cup) player, you perform so well it gives the coach no other option but to select and promote you.

If you are playing shit in NSW Cup and not lifting, you'll do just as shit in NRL.

same thing is being said about some of our other younger players. give them a chance i say. Being shit is worth it if we are finding out who steps up in the big league.

Seeing Holland in our starting side gives opposition backs a tonne of confidence. His best place in this team — if our depth is so poor that we still need to pick him — is on the bench as he is a true utility player.
