Besides, who cares about predictions. In the past we were never rated to finish high on the ladder and we ended up winning comps.
Canterbury are a very different club to other clubs in regards to player rosters.
We are at our best when we have our own coming through the system, history shows this. We went away from that over the last 10 years or so.
Looks like we are going back to that now, but it won't happen overnight.

Ofcourse predictions don't mean much, most people are really only confident on making a call on a few teams and just fill in the gaps with the rest. But just go back and check last year's prediction threads...people basically say the exact same thing lol.

Tell me which teams do much better with the spine we were rolling out at the earlier stages of the season? We had forwards trying to be our playmakers ffs Obviously we will require more than just Lewis to be true contenders... but you're simply being an idiot if you think he doesn't make a massive difference in regards to wins and losses, when you consider how many games we lost by less than a converted try. And like I said earlier, Lewis wasn't a stand out in the lower grades, any of the other first grade coaches could have overlooked him.

Best as I can figure out we were looking at around $13 million against a Salary Cap of $9.6m, due to the back ended contracts. As a result we had to shed $3.4m worth of players just to comply with the salary cap. Woods and Mbye were a part of that $3.4m.

The money is going to paying percentages of the Mbye and Woods contract. If we didn’t release those players we wouldn’t have even signed Meaney and the others it would have been rookies on minimum wage. How hard is it to understand?

I think you need to check your maths , the minimum NRL payment for 2019 is $105K per player, so $500K won't get us 5 players.

As best we can determine, out of the $9.6m salary cap we have around $200k left from the Klemmer to Napa swap which could be added to the ~$300k left to sign the 30th player (we already have 29 registered). Around $500k and 1 spot left, which should get us someone half decent when they pop up. After the coaches merry go round and the salary cap audit currently underway.

Klemmer Woods Mbye gave us a combined 2.4 mill a season at least. Even if we allow a percentage of say 200k a season each for mbye and woods. Thats at least 2 mill plus we had 500k left.

Thats fucking 2.5 mill to sign 8 players. How hard is that for you to understand?

Ok we signed napa meaney cricton and chn. Say napa is on 600k the others 300k each. Then we promoted another 3 minimum wage players to the top 30 as we still have 1 spot left. These 7 players make a total 1.8 mill and thats being genrous. We should at least have 700k left in cap.
