Yeah but Storm lost a stack for cheating!

But look at the only other team that has a majority there. Hmmmm... and they also don't have a cap.

They really didn't lose anything. The players still got their rings and pay for winning the gf. The Storm didn't have to return their winnings and sponsorship money. No other team was named champion. The point is they still made those gf's. Their performance since then has proven over the cap or not they are still making gf's.

Cooper Cronk reckons the only difference between the Storm and the Roosters is that the "brown paper bags" at the the Roosters are much, much bigger

They got fined $1,000,000 - which is for the 2 Premierships and 2 Minor Premierships they won during that time, so they did have to return the prize money.

NRL prizemoney is peanuts anyway.

The comp was definitely split up into sections Clearly this year. You had the bottom 4 which was obvious, then 9-12 who were Cleary below 4-8, and didn’t get a look on at the top 8 with about 5 rounds to go. Teams 4-8 were never going to win the comp. storm roosters and rabbits were leaders from the start of the comp pretty much (rooters started slow but when you have that tram you know it’s going to come good eventually)

What do you mean? It all went to script didnt it? So of course its working. Lol
It still really shits me that the storm were able to keep that team together after it was proven how badly they cheated the cap and for so long. They should have been forced to dismantle the team they illegally built over those years.
Its funny how brisbane have fallen from grace in all of this though. They should still be the most competitive and pwerful team in the comp, but they have been pretty ordinary for the past 20 years. We have a better record then them tbh, and we have been pretty average.

And who owns the Storm? News Limited. $1 million is nothing to them.

What do you mean the caps not working? It's working fine the teams the NRL want to be there are most years . So working fine it is.

a true salary cap is just that, a salary cap
no third party agreements, no deals outside of the cap, make teams spend within the cap for everyone, this would eliminate clubs like chooks broncos not so much cheating the cap, but limiting their out of the cap deals

Plus how about also adding a proper draw where everyone plays eachother twice instead of having some teams play twice and some once. How does that make for a fair comp, specially if you have more games against stronger sides.

Amen to that brother. Problem is there would be a push for restraint of trade with player managers and clubs who have hefty third party deals saying it denies a player earning their true worth. If we had to look at the Chooks with their salaries they would possibly have a roster of 13 players with quite a few of them on 1 million or close to.
