The 'Souths' fans were Dogs fans pretending to be Souths fans, so they could cause trouble so the NRL blamed it on Souths. lol

Souths & Chooks don't have many fans.

They only seem to go to the GF when they are in it.

The chooks don’t, but Souths have a massive fan base that is usually souped up even more by bandwagoners when they are going well.

I seriously doubt the bean counters at nrl hq would be happy with this weekend’s attendance figures.

Bulldogs and Souths drew 70,000 to a prelim in 2012. 48k for a semi involving two of the leagues oldest and most popular crowds isn’t great either.

The game is on the nose and administration is out of touch. Anyone paying attention to the average post on social media can see that.

That was a great semi final, atmosphere was one of the best ive witnessed.

Once RLW was ousted the facebook support dwindled. The comments on those post game threads were quite large.

It was the game I think when sbw and the Penrith player hit each other and the sweat bounced off there heads and the crowd went crazy

Not compared to the AFL Melbourne Demonds Vs Hawthorn 90,000 plus crowd in attendance. Not to mention the the 10's of 1000's watching at home.

One of the biggest appeals of league was it's raw and unbridaled nature.

However, league has turned more and more politically correct and shot itself in the foot in so many different ways.

- Players can't punch anymore
- Players can't speak their mind anymore
- Players can't have a personality anymore

Everything which used to attract fans to the NRL, a club and a particular player(s) is now gone - so what is left that makes a fan want to go to the games?

League does not (generally) stir up huge amounts of emotion anymore.

It's definitely not like it used to be, which is shit. They have slowly killed the game over the years with all the constant rule changes, the bad officiating, the some what favorable treatment of certain teams, the amount of betting involved, plus the lack of a proper governing body to run the damn show.
