Meh. This gets brought up every September. NRL will survive.

Maybe the tv audience is still growing? Not sure.

19k is a pathetic finals crowd. It may survive, but the game is not in good shape, mate.
Not saying the crowd figure was great, but this topic is raised every bloody September when there is what is deemed to be a poor finals crowd (and there will always be at least one), and it doesn't really mean anything. Bums on seats are just one factor in the strength of success of a code.

Penriff and Cronulla are both a decent distance from Allianz. Neither side's fans have a history of travelling to see their team. Not sure why anyone thought the crowd would be more than it was.

48K for Souths vs Dragons is a good crowd.
Not really look at some of those matches 80 years ago between the two the game is not really growing how old leagues is any crowd under 50k is pretty piss weak.
The afl can draw a 50k crowd for a nothing game. We are so behind

Don't ruin a story with facts.
Bulldogs and Souths drew 70,000 to a prelim in 2012. 48k for a semi involving two of the leagues oldest and most popular crowds isn’t great either.

The game is on the nose and administration is out of touch. Anyone paying attention to the average post on social media can see that.

19k are you serious? They used to attract kite than that yo blockbuster regular round games.

Souths and the Dragons traditionally draw and 48k isn’t s great crowd for a game if that magnitude either. Attrocious agenda driven refereeing, inconsistent handling of on and off field indiscretions.... you only have yo look at the plethora of negative gonnebts on social media or listen to talking sport to get a picture of what the average person on the street thinks of the game’s current admin.

not sure why afl is so popular but it always has been.

I think the players are chosen on looks more than skill because tbh theres not a lot of skill in kicking a ball from one end of the field to the next. It's just a garbage game

NRL has always been a better TV sport, whereas with AFL is a much better watch at the game. Makes sense considering the size of the field and the large amount of players.

98% would have been Dogs fans.

Souths & Chooks don't have many fans.

They only seem to go to the GF when they are in it.
