When we lost RFM for the season I was gutted. A club without an "afroman", just doesn't feel like a club.
Tis a fine sympathy afro from Elliot. He is like a lion when he goes for a run

He has been playing well recently and I hope it continues but he really needs to just work on nailing down the basics. Just run hard and hit holes, don't worry about any long sideway passes and keep the damn ball.

A good, hard working player who suits this club. I wish more posters would give him the respect he deserves.
Well said, most people on this forum have been bagging, him for the last 2 years;he makes the odd mistake occasionally, but he gives his soul, every week,

He is a great no frills second rower in the tradition of Steve Reardon, Simon Gillies and Robert Relf. You need guys like this in your team.
Watch the 95 finals and grand final again. He is along way off being in the same class as gillies.

Not sure if anyone's mentioned it but Elliot was also just announced as the Bulldogs nominee for the Ken Stephen's medal, the NRL's highest off-field honour.

His energy and efforts aren't just limited to the field of play. We're lucky to have this man in our colours. Great to see more and more are starting to embrace what he's bringing to the table.

It's great seeing people actually giving him credit and praising his effort for once, instead of calling him Adam Idiot and bitching that he's in the side

People lack respect these days.... players and their families look at these forums... its one thing to critique players/negatively discuss their performances...

It another to straight troll/bullying them....

If you had children. And they were named called/bullied on forums. Wouldnt make you feel the best...

Elliott nominated for Ken Stephen Medal
Author NRL Media Release Mon 20 Aug 2018, 11:01 AM

A host of big name NRL players including Darius Boyd, Joel Thompson, Kayln Ponga and Latrell Mitchell are in line for one of rugby league's highest off-field honours – the 2018 Ken Stephen Medal, to be presented at the Dally M Awards.

Recognising and celebrating the off-field efforts of NRL players, each Ken Stephen Medal nominee has been nominated by their club for going above and beyond in their involvement in charity work, youth development or community support throughout the year.

NRL Head of Government and Community Relations, Jaymes Boland-Rudder congratulated all nominees on their achievements off the field.

"These nominees are just some of the many players within clubs and communities that lend a helping hand where and when they can to all number of charities, hospitals and others in need," Mr Boland-Rudder said.

"Many of the stories and acts of kindness go un-noticed and un-told, although we regularly hear from members of the public about a player taking time out to give back and make a difference for the better.

"As a sport, we have a powerful voice and an even greater opportunity for everyone involved to continue to look out for one another, support each other when times are tough, and ensure that together, our communities are prosperous."

Previous Ken Stephen Medal winners include Sam Tagataese, Trent Hodkinson, Jonathan Thurston, Sam Thaiday, Nathan Hindmarsh and Preston Campbell.

The Ken Stephen Medal forms part of the NRL Community Awards, acknowledging some of rugby league's unsung community heroes for the tireless work they do for the game they love.

The awards are an important way to recognise and celebrate a small number of many that make a positive difference within their communities.

This year's Ken Stephen Medal is sponsored by P & O Cruises (with the winner provided with a cruise) and SkillsRoad, via the New South Wales Business Chamber (with $5,000 donated to the winner's charity of choice).

The 2018 Ken Stephen Medal nominees are:

Brisbane Broncos: Darius Boyd
Canberra Raiders: Sam Williams
Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs: Adam Elliott
Cronulla Sharks: Edrick Lee
Gold Coast Titans: Ryan James
Manly Warringah Sea Eagles: Joel Thompson
Melbourne Storm: Christian Welch
Newcastle Knights: Kayln Ponga
North Queensland Cowboys: Jake Granville
Parramatta Eels: Cameron King
Penrith Panthers: Trent Merrin
St George-Illawarra Dragons: Matt Dufty
Sydney Roosters: Latrell Mitchell
Wests Tigers: Josh Aloiai

I thought Kaylan Ponga was all about himself ?

Adam has been busting his arse since day one but because he’s not the most talented he’s copped it from day one from clowns on this forum. He’s a genuine good guy and he’s been trying to get the most out of himself from the moment he moved from Bega. Talent only gets people so far. I bet a lot of you guys know of a talented sportsman that was great as a kid but never made it for what ever reason. That’s because to make it to this level you have to be more then just talented.

Elliott is very similar to Jackson in many ways. They are not immensely talented, but they overcome the lack of talent by working very hard on their game.
Elliott will come back bigger than this year, and will really make his presence felt. He is, and always has been a great prospect.

Plays at 100 miles an hour.

Has been great this year
He hasn't been "great this year"
The first half of the season he was pathetic
Improved but still far to few meters for a starting lock in the NRL.

Elliott copped a lot of criticism at the start of the year, because it was warranted as his performances were not up to first grade standard..

no one needs to get on their high horse about that ......

I'm glad to see he has turned the corner and showed some good form. So now he deserves the accolades.. simple ...
