I don’t see how Newcastle would have made a big offer when he was there 4th or 5th option. We would have matched there offer or 20 grand more a season and said there is a clear path to first grade halfback if you are good enough. Maybe 200 but we are all guessing.
Des would have thrown a million a season at him and said you can retire at 24 kid stick with me.

Are these guesses or you have inside info. Per year we signed Hoppa on more than Klemmer, I would doubt that. Nu Brown wouldn't be on $500k per season.

Backended payments only dictates the amounts you get paid on yearly agreed amounts,
Example, Foran gets paid $.9m first year, $1m second year, $1.1m third year, the total $3m for three years.

Correct, but when the contracts were negotiated they placed ratchet clauses in them as a sweetener. The cap went up by 25% this year so the $.9m becomes $1.1m, the $1m becomes $1.3m and the $1.1m becomes $1.4m. That's what they did to us and that is why the players are being moved on. We have to create space so we can actually buy players in a couple of years.

I think one of the problems with those figures is that when they make rep teams their salaries go up so Montoya, RFM & Martin are prob on more than originally signed for.
