Ill have a huge amount of money with anyone that he turns out a much better player than mbye.safe bet.
Wests are putting Mbye into their front row next year cos its one of few positions he hasn't flopped at yet cos he's never played that position before.

I’d rather lose with young players having a dig and gaining experience for future years at a fraction of the cost than losing with big ego cowards with no balls or heart.
Newsflash For Sale Bulldogs/Wests forward.. Best position running into opposition sides and throwing the ball away in impossible situations. Handles anything well except the ball. A mystery to the medical profession no balls and no heart. Ranked highly by other sides for smiling at the camera at half time normally about the fact that he played crap in the first half. Loss of his long hair drained his brain surgeons disputed this said he didn't have one to start with. commands $800,000 per season as his new haircut is expensive. Explosive off the mark for the first half metre. Bargain buy of the year.

Anybody know how much $$$ we sign him?
His manager knows. For the most part anyone other than that is going to be guessing.

Theyre going nowhere with Floporan in the team
It's easier for playmakers to excel if they've got people running in support to put the defense in two minds. Thats one of the things that we lack right now, so perhaps people are judging Foran harshly.

We won't miss Mbye as this kid looks like he is well spoken as well.
As long as his on field backing up and involvement is more than Mbye's (which won't be hard), I think we got a good deal considering this kid would be on a quarter of what Mbyes was on.

I'd assume that He's signed because he's hungry to succeed at the highest level he can and his pathway into the NRL probably dried up at Newcastle. We need hungry players and hopefully he does well here even if he opts to chase money elsewhere once his contract is up.

What is up with us getting Newcastle players?cogger and meaney!!
Newcastle have just recruited outside their club to fill the positions that both Cogger and Meaney play. We might have made two very astute signings if these two deliver on their potential. If we can get into the habit of snapping up players that have been forced backwards on the pecking order when their current clubs buy established talent it will allow us to build some very strong teams in future years. Our issue in recent times has been that Hasler tended to chase players who hadn't pushed into the NRL by the time they were 24-26 and occasionally splashing out big on guys like Abbey or Perrett who according to rumour were both on around 300k per season. That clearly wasn't working out all that well given our current cap woes.

I’d rather lose with young players having a dig and gaining experience for future years at a fraction of the cost than losing with big ego cowards with no balls or heart.
This was the way the club used to occupy the top end of the ladder frequently. We had a nice mix of keeping the best of our stars and filling the positions we needed with our own home grown talent or cherry picking players from other clubs. Hopefully this is the first signs that we are learning to manage our cap again long term. The strategy of the last administration seemed like it was hoping to buy a premiership quickly, but thats very hard to do with a salary cap. Even moreso when other clubs don't seem to adhere to the salary cap. We had begun something of a decline.

ANTERBURY have wasted little time in finding a replacement for Moses Mbye after landing the prized scalp of young Newcastle fullback Nick Meaney.

The 20-year-old has agreed to a three-year deal with the Bulldogs after telling Knights officials of his planned move this week.

Meaney had four clubs chasing him but, with Kalyn Ponga blocking his path, the Ballina Seagulls junior has opted to move on in a bid to play fullback despite the Knights being keen to retain his services.

He will be given first crack at Mbye’s No. 1 jersey after the Bulldogs fullback signed a four-year deal with the Wests Tigers — which starts next season.

Meaney has been a lower-grades star. He represented the NSW under 20s and NSW Residents last year and won the Knights reserve grade player-of-the-year award. He was also Newcastle’s under 20s player of the year in 2016.

An ankle injury in round one halted his progress this season and he only made his reserve grade return in recent weeks.

PLENTY of player managers remain surprised at Canterbury’s “new” recruitment officer, recently elected board member Chris Anderson.

In a throwback to another time, Anderson has committed to helping the club mine some of the best junior talent around by getting involved himself.

The club’s salary cap position continues to be a concern, though.

WOODS AIN’T NO KNIGHT
AARON Woods has ruled out any chance of going to Newcastle, which was hyped about on the NRL grapevine this week.

Woods prefers a return to Leichhardt with Ivan Cleary’s Tigers now the Bulldogs are quietly shopping him around in a bid to alleviate their salary cap problems.

Parramatta, keen to get some height up front, has also loomed as a possibility.

I actually saw Aiden Sezer today, he was at Canterbury leagues, he’s current on $500k has not resigned with Canberra and is our local junior, he wants out because his family lives in Bankstown, we can afford him $600k and still cap complient
