Our fullback shouldn’t be positioning himself for kicking duties, he should be positioning for support play and chasing kicks.

I don't mind him putting in clearing kicks at times as he probably has the best boot on him, but once we're attacking their half he should be shot out of a gun and pressuring the receiver looking to either get a tap back or smash the bloke when he catches the ball.

Agree! Slow service compounded by a lack of urgency to play the ball = opposition line gets set, easy pickings.

The problem is Foran is a second receiver not a halfback. We need a halfback. Cogger will solve these issues next year. Nobody else in the lower grades is a genuine halfback. We really need a game manager and Foran try's hard but simply isn't good enough

It's not like Foran is having a shitload of possessions though..i mean there's 13 other halfbacks that handle the ball more times a game than him. It's more that he isn't getting the ball in right positions with the right players arouns him.

Foran isn't exactly a super creative half anyway, his strength has always been playing direct and creating space for his outside men. When Foran goes to the line in the oppositions red zone, more often than not we should have Moses on his outside running onto the ball and using his pace to take advantage of the space created. But for whatever reason Pay has decided Moses is going to be stuck on the other side of the field organsing the attack or jumping in at first receiver. It's just shit structures setup by Pay.

Did it against Penrith and it worked... ever since then it seems we are just happy to play flat and throw poor cut out passes to the opposition

We need to read the play better. We pass to Foran or an outside back with the defense rushing up on a player - we need to do a cut out pass, loft one over and onto a player that can run into the gap the rushing player has created.

We aren’t playing to the players strengths, plain and simple!

Foran is not and never has been a Halfback, I said it all preseason, he is a second receiver that will create an opportunity or two per game through his direct running. He can also put in a few good kicks per game but shouldn’t be the primary kicker nor should he be expected to organize the team the whole 80.

Mbye was put at fullback to utilize his speed and elusiveness yet is still expected to come in and put up a kick 40m from the try line instead of being the one chasing the kick. What’s the point of moving him to fullback if he isn’t used like one.

Woods needs to re-invent himself as the player we need. Yes he is Kangaroos Prop etc doing what he is doing BUT we don't need his old style. If he is half as good as he is suppose to be then he could do it. In the start of the last match I saw him run harder and that's what we need. He made impact and we looked good. He needs to run from the back fence and don't worry about stopping to look for the offload, he needs to run through the line and smash guys in defence. We need him to pair up with Klemmer and become the "bash brothers" and dominate the start of the game and let us get on top. Nothing new, just some old school prop plays BUT this is the Woods we need. His career will be better for it and so would our team. He needs to find the mongrel inside himself and he and Klemmer need to bully the opposition forward packs taking the pressure off Foran and giving him more time. This will compensate for us only having 1 half. This should be where we start.

And they are doing that job. Trampled the roosters forwards all night last week. If a few players had followed Woods more enthusiastically (not to mention RFM and our halves) we'd have won that game comfortably.

Gordon - was always a fun killing prude who came across like his shit didn't stink.
James - was always a bandwagonner. He went with everyone elses opinion.
