As an adult I dont oppose gay marriage but from the perspective of a parent I do, its debatable whether being gay is a lifestyle choice or not but by showcasing it and blending SSM into everyday life it has the power of 'normality' which will influence children.
If children are a product of their environment then what makes being gay exempt from being emulated ? Kids are sponges and are highly influenced by their surroundings , whatever their surroundings are ... by the time they're 7 they have pretty much formed life long values that define their choices. So , knowing this , is it irresponsible to include SSM as the norm?

Aristotle said 'give me a child until he's seven and I will show you the man'
It is a good point but the real question is whether you consider homosexuality to be a bad thing or a normal thing. If you consider it a bad thing then you would stand against the normalisation of homosexuality. If you consider it a normal thing then you wouldn't be against the normalisation of homosexuality.

I don't know about the 'by the time a child is 7 they have pretty much formed life long values part'. I was brought up a catholic, did the whole church thing every sunday and as i got older(late teens/adult) my beliefs changed a hell of a lot as i realized what complete & utter rubbish i was taught by religion, i decided i wasn't going to live my life by some stupid little book written by primitive man. While i am not homosexual myself i couldn't give a stuff what two consenting adults do, if they want to get married than that is their choice.

This is where subjectivism comes in. For the religious everything was created by God so he has final say. For the non-religious there is much that pre-dates God.

Who is right? No one knows. Each side will tell you definitively that they're right but in the end it's all opinion and it's a strong opinion that leads to conflict and destroys any chance of having a normal conversation. Both sides are at fault in causing that conflict.

That is why religious threads are not allowed here, and that's why as Realist pointed out, we need to keep religion out of the discussion.
Fair enough haha I agree. I just get annoyed when people throw things out of context.

Wow! You're a really rich person considering you can pay for hookers for 5 or 6 mating sessions per day.

I watched the interview & they weren't bullying her.

She was rambling on & on.

You know when you lose the argument, when you say you were bullied.

She stated she would stop flying with Qantas where possible. So does that mean if she can't get another airline she will still use Qantas.

Maybe Alan Joyce should ban her for life, so she can't use Qantas or any airline aligned with them.

At this rate, she will have to use Greyhound buses.

If we're sticking to strict definitions in this thread. Let me ask you some questions.

Have you ever had sex for pleasure?

Have you ever had sex outside of marriage?

Have you ever watched porn?

Have you ever perved when you knew you had no intention of marrying the person you perved on?

You don't have to answer. Your right to privacy is respected. But if you answered yes to either of those questions you also promote degeneracy.
Societies have to keep and preserve core traditions and marriage is one of them.

You are the typical righty that always winds up crying bully whenever religion I'd discussed. Oh poor Christianity, don't dare pick on it. You should call yourself hypocrite90.
Did I say don't dare pick on it? I was asking why? It's just obvious you're referring to Christianity which is fine just wanted to know why you're so fixated on it and eeee answered me.

So instead of replying back like a bitch that's just gotten his periods, you could've replied back just clarifying. All good though.

Also please don't just copy what I say, show some originality.

Please refrain from attacking the Bible. It is not a stupid little book.

everyone knows the innate purpose of marriage is to procreate, to evolve the human race, gay people cannot procreate or contribute to evolution.
Its the gay beureaucrats that are exploiting the lack of the written law of marriage.

Marriage throughout history has had all sorts of purposes.

Actually I see marriage more as a way to allow for legal rights for your partner - eg: property, ongoing health etc, citizenship status etc etc.

I only recently got legally married as two major things came up in our life that getting married made easier - transfer of assets without paying stamp duty, and intercountry adoption. The first required a lot more paperwork if we weren't married and the second was an insistence of the 3rd world country we are looking to adopt from. Otherwise TBH, I wouldn't have got married.

And it continues. I mean this hater of gays and supporter of apartheid has been going on like this for a long time, but now its finally hitting the mainstream. Some of this is serious cuckoo shit... to her credit, she cuts right through Godwin's law by bringing up Hitler herself without waiting for someone else to do it...

Also, don;'t forget, if you want your daughter to be a professional tennis player, keep them away from all those partying lesbians.

Ahh.... partying lesbians. Those were the days.

Margaret Court’s Christian radio rant on lesbians in tennis and transgender children
MAY 31, 20173:11PM

Margaret Court says there were “only a couple” of lesbians in tennis when she played. Picture: Ross Swanborough.

ROSE BRENNANThe Daily Telegraph
FORMER tennis champion Margaret Court has told a Christian radio station that “tennis is full of lesbians” and transgender children are influenced by the Devil and are part of a mind control plot as seen in Nazi Germany.

The 74-year-old told 20Twenty Vision Christian Radio program that transgender or binary children were just the product of bullying and parents who “don’t care”.

“But with the literature, the bullying, the stuff that’s put out today into children’s minds, I tell you what, if you haven’t got parents who bring you up that way and you’ve got parents that don’t care and you’re hurt and offended in somebody saying something to you,” she said.

Ms Court claimed she was “bullied” by the media after her calls for a boycott of Qantas.Source:Supplied

I tell you, a child can just start to think ‘well, maybe I am a girl’ when they’re a boy or and maybe I’m a boy and I’m a girl

“Your thoughts — even medically they’re knowing now — the mind is a battlefield and that’s why I wrote that book Train Your Brain because the mind is, it’s all in the Bible.

“God’s got so much in there about the mind how it affects us, affects our emotions, our feelings, you can think ‘oh I’m a boy’ and it’ll affect your emotions and feelings, and everything else and so that’s all the Devil.

“That’s what Hitler did, that’s what Communism did — got the mind of the children. And it’s a whole plot in our nation and in the nations of the world to get the minds of the children.”

In the interview with Neil Johnson, Ms Court also said “tennis is full of lesbians”.

“I mean, tennis is full of lesbians because even when I was playing there was only a couple there but those couple that lead that took young ones into parties and things.

“And because they liked to be around heroes and what you get at the top is often what you will get right through that sport,” she said.

Ms Court claimed she was “bullied” by the media after her calls for a boycott of Qantas — because of its support of gay marriage — was widely condemned.

In the radio interview, Ms Court also claimed that gay men in her church wanted to stop young men being gay.

“They are also trying also to protect young people from going this way because they know that it will destroy their lives.”
