We are all excited about Abbey, but isnt anyone concerned that Hoppa will just slop back into FB when he returns and Abbey gets relegated?

Des needs to give him free reign to play his natural game as he will spark our attack

Des will oblige once hell freezes over
Abbeys got a beautiful pass and short kicking game
Will support all game up the middle too and be on the ball

I couldn't give a fcuk about his defence
That will come when he's body fills out as he still is only 20/21

Tough ask

I remember Sione Matautia test debut marking the beast and getting completely owned (same game SJ made GI look stupid) and Kiwis won 4 nations

at least we have a better chance of getting repeat sets now with Abbey possessing a good shirt kicking game lol

Moe must be hurting seeing Abbey named at 1

How we have missed someone running of Kas and some of the other forwards!

Look, I am a big Abbey fan having watched the kid over the last 12 months develop. However, do not expect too much. He will add something but don't expect miracles. Give the kid some time.

I agree with those sentiments about his support play and his skills. He will add a fair bit in attack.

Surprisingly for a young skinny bloke, he pulls off a lot of last ditch one on one tackles. Stronger than he looks.

Same with Montoya I'm just glad Des has finally giving some of these guys a shot. People forgot Abbey just turned 20.

Has the penny finally dropped for Des?

He hasn't reshuffled half the bloody team just to cover 2 injuries and he has actually picked like for like positions.

Now say if Reynolds or Mbye get injured I do not want to see Jackson at 6 like previous years. Give the younger players a go.
