I know this won't be anything like the team they'll pick. But I would fill the team with strike across the park and force the defensive side to have to adjust ( much like Golden State in the NBA ). Also, I would opt for youth with an eye on the future. Just my two cents.

Brett is out till round 16, cant see him playing origin this year unless he comes back in freakish form for game 3.

"Ideal" right?

Mullen has a great tactical kicking game, a great passing game and would be surrounded by talent for once

Wallace is just about the form dummy half option available which is concerning

Both of them had their chance in the origin arena, no way mullen gets picked due to how bad the knights are playing plus he is a rocks and diamonds type player. Ennis will probably get the nod, cant see farah considering how shit he is atm, although this is Laurie Daley we are talking about.

Yeah but my answer isn't a realistic squad. Cordners still injured, Lyon won't come back, Knights haven't clicked etc. None the less, this squad has 4 genuine kicking options in the spine including the halves that consistently find grass in the tryline, lethal kick return either side of the park, the best distributing center in the comp feeding one of the most dynamic runners in the game, 2 recognised goal kickers

The Knights really aren't too far off, just a lot of silly 1% mistakes/failures to capitalise. He's rocks or diamonds because of the organisation he's playing for, 5 coaching changes in 6 seasons or something, lack of talent at the club etc.

Realistically it'll be

1. Tedesco
2. Hopoate
3. Dugan
4. Jennings
5. Roberts
6. Austin
7. Hodkinson
8. Woods
9. Farah
10. Tamou
11. Hoffman
12. Jackson
13. Gallen

14. Fifita
15. Klemmer
16. Merrin
17. Graham

Hodkinson will get smashed all game because Austin can't kick, forwards will get smashed and the outside backs won't get any ball

On current form and potential (for players injured) I would go with...

1. Josh Dugan
2. Josh Mansour # Debut
3. Michael Jennings
4. Josh Morris
5. Blake Ferguson
6. No One Has Stepped Up for this vacant position yet in my opinion.
(possiblilities include Mitch Pearce, Adam Reynolds, Blake Austin, Josh Reynolds, Aiden Sezer, James Maloney, Jarrod Mullen, Cody Walker).
7. Trent Hodkinson
8. Aaron Woods
9. No One Has Stepped Up for this vacant position yet in my opinion.
(possibilities include Robbie Farah, Mick Ennis, Mitch Rein, Nathan Peats).
10. James Tamou
11. Josh Jackson
12. Greg Bird
13. Shaun Fensom # Debut

Impact Focused Bench
14. Ryan James # Debut
15. David Klemmer
16. Paul Gallen
17. Tyrone Peachey # Debut (utility)

4 rookies with possibility of it being 6 rookies.

6 and 9 should be up for grabs yet Daley will unfortunately pick Pearce and Farah.

Coote is good in clubland but would most likely get monstered at this level ala Turner. Tommy T will get there one day, this year is not the time. Cameron McKinnes has struggled immensely this season before scoring a double this weekend.

Forward pack looks good though, just need Farah, Ennis or Peats to round out the pack.

Oh, and Jmoz and Jennings should and most likely will be the centres.

I like it, except I think Jennings has done enough to hold on for game 1 instead of Roberts. Roberts is a fantastic talent but has struggled in tight games where his opposite centre is defensively capable (City vs Country for example).

Would also prefer Tedesco over Dugan, but again have no problem with Dugan considering his great performances last season.

Roberts teminds me of a young Josh Morris - most certainly always breaks the first tackle. WB has him defending ok.

Not sure about Jennings. He plays for Parra now.
