At one point people on the forum said we wont even make the 8, now with 7 ganes to go we are already potential top 2 depending on our form

We just need to keep winning. Our F/A differentials are:

St. George - 54 points. Dragons lose tonight this reduces
Melbourne - 46 points
Souths - 24 points
Warriors - 19 points

With 9 rounds to go, making up 54 points on F/A is not difficult. The key is to keep winning. We do and we make top 4 comfortably. Not rocket science.

Exactly two good games puts you firmly in top 4 two bad games can see you miss out

It's still 4th, if there's a tie position like 2 teams tied for first, then the next team is 3rd not 2nd

Yes but as Souths showed in the gf, the week off gave them the edge in the 2nd half. Dogs were on death row for 4 weeks. It's one thing to make the gf, it's another thing to win it. History is a good guide.
