What we need to do to make the 8

For the past 7 years to guarantee yourself a finals appearance you need to finish with 30 points. Currently we are on 8 points and will get 4 points from byes to give us a total of 12 points. That means we would need another 18 points or 9 wins. We have 14 games left so that means we need to win 9 of 14 games. Our remaining 14 games are-

Round 11= at Canberra***
Round 13= vs St.George
Round 14= at Gold Coast***
Round 15= vs Penrith
Round 16= vs Melbourne**
Round 18= vs Brisbane
Round 19= vs Parramatta*
Round 20= vs Cronulla**
Round 21= at Sydney Roosters
Round 22= at Brisbane
Round 23= vs Gold Coast
Round 24= vs Souths*
Round 25= at Newcastle
Round 26= vs New Zealand

* We are technically the away team but the games are at ANZ Stadium

I agree about the draw. I see us winning 9 or 10 of those 14 games.

Makes it hard to enjoy yourself when the coach's tactics just don't allow you to play your natural game.

How hard is it to implement some set plays or early chip and chases?
Do we need more individual brilliance?
We haven't really seen our best side on the field long enough to see the best out of the side.
What we do have is a great NSW Cup side with plenty of talent to fall back on, we need guys like Loko and Kafusi to stand up on Sunday to try and cement their place in the side.

Far too early to write the boys off, expect last years last ditch effort to scrape into the eight again, its history repeating itself with players making a return just in time.

b) Mbye and Reynolds take over as halves and fire

But what about our defensive issues.. they need to be sorted, our defensive is atrocious, 3rd worst defence in the League.

1. Get rid of Hodkinson - thta solves our defensive issues somewhat.

Second highest missed tackle count at the club. 1 less than Reynolds.

Then again if our attack was awesome, defence wouldn't be as critical.

Yes and our defensive issues are somewhat to blame on a halfback who has missed 19 tackles this season, and can't move in defence because his knees are borked.

I've seen turnstiles stop more people than hodko this season.

Any other season, and I would say we cannot turn it around, make the eight. And I'm still not sure, but this season happens to have a special twist for us that could change everything. If the boys get pumped for the two Belmore games, and we get a couple of special occasions/wins, it might trigger a surge towards the finals. Those Belmore games are key. Can't wait.

Hate to say it but I rate us a no chance to make the 8
We are going to get smashed tomorrow
The way we are playing in both defense and attack is abysmal
Lafai started the year badly and looked overweight before he got a knee injury
Unless they flogged the crap out of him which I doubt since he came back early he will be underdone
Perett is playing shit at FB and has another 2-3 games before Bmoz is back
Bmoz has had a long lay off hopefully he comes back well but yeah hammy injuries can be funny and take a while to get back to top speed
Graham's knee injury will only slow him up some
Kasiano and Pritchard are carrying leg injuries after I spoke to them both during the week
Trex started the season well but is going down hill massively I can't think of many starting back rowers in the game who only has 1 try assist and no tries to his name I used to be one of his biggest supporters but enough is enough he needs to find some real attack and tighten up his defense or piss him off , pay some of his salary for next year but try and lure someone here for next year who has some attack Pritchard and Jackson are the only two back rowers we have with any attack anymore
We look shot and Hasler being Hasler doesn't seem to want to try anything new

We are probably going to lose Jackson klemmer and Morris for all3 origins and they will come back battered

I don't see us making the 8

I have no doubts we'll come good eventually this year. Problem is it might be too late by the time we get to our best.

That 1 game against the Rabbitohs has single handedly ruined our season.
