After Sonny left in 2008 the team showed plenty of heart and courage in the face of big name sides while getting belted, those dudes had more respect than Sonny will ever have on an NRL field.

In reality none of this will happen. The stadium security will be briefed to watch out for banners that offend. Our task will be to support our team on the day to get them a win which at the moment looks unlikely.

I hate to be the dull guy talking about Terms and Conditions, but the political analogy doesn't hold at all.

You're entitled to moan about politicians, but try being on Labor Party or Liberal Party property and displaying such banners. They're reasonably entitled to throw you out.
Likewise, you can make whatever banners you like about SBW and display them in public areas. Try standing in Centennial Park before the game with them and there's nothing they can do - free speech and all. Once you buy a ticket to enter SFS, you agree to abide by their rules and I imagine their rules will be avoiding any banners that they deem embarrassing to the club.
