THE Bulldogs have suffered a couple of minor injury blows ahead of next month's trial matches.

Honest prop Michael Hodgson and utility recruit Dene Halatau are both battling to be fit for the warm-up games after being injured at training.

Halatau did his knee before Christmas and only resumed running last week, while Hodgson's ribs were damaged during a contact drill last week.

Remember reading about Halatau being injured but thought it was bull.

no dramas. I'd rather blood the youngsters and the troubled spots. Halatau and Hodgo will both be in the 17

hopefully both can play rd1, if they dont play in the trials will be better so they can be 100% fit for the game against the dragons... i cant wait to see Halatau play..

I tell ya this club is just blessed!

A ball hasn't even been kicked in season 2010 and we've already got players struggling with injuries...

I'd love to see some stats as to which club picks up the most injuries... I reckon we'd top the list!

Sounds like they both should be right for the start of the season.

id like to see them both get a game or 2 in before round 1 for match fitness.

Better now than mid-season when we lose half our pack to Origin!

I wouldn't be surprised if we have 3 or 4 forwards out for origin. Hannant, Ennis, Ryan and Stagg are all possibilities. I'm saying that with bias though.

I reckon Dene Halatau and Benny Roberts in a rotating role.

If not, Nathan Smith is a very good player, I'd give him a go.

And then there's Blake Green, who's got big wraps from K Moore. He's a half, but I would'nt be surprised if he gets theown in around orgin time.

Yeh forgot Halatau , use him of the bench rotating with Roberts , Barba OR Green all could play either position, (not a bad rotation). Sorry i dont know to much about Smith.

Smith is a tough player with a good head on him. More of a classic style hooker.

But yeah, Dene will most likey be rotating with someone.
