Stunned, and quite upset.

My best friend didn't want to make me worried, so she hasn't told me about the last few months...she goes in to have half her cervix removed tomorrow due to abnormalities and growths caused by HPV. She is one step away from cervical cancer at the age of 21.

I am absolutely devastated...

So young...

If she's going into your hospital she'll be ok...won't she?

she's up in townsville...the specialist she's seeing up there is pretty decent...i've already told her i know surgeons she can only dream of getting access to if she needs them.

i was just in total shock when she told me...

once you have HPV, you can't get rid of it. not only that, it's the direct cause of cervical cancer.
i'm just hoping she gets through today ok, and i'm already in the process of getting flights to townsville.

yeah ill try but definitely not expecting to get them. Sucks.. obviously they would be so good in a concert type thing that they are doing. But here's hoping they can do a festival so i can at least see them before the yr is out

Yeah they're doing Meredith festival in VIC, I really want to go to that one someday, the concept sounds unreal.
